That's not a bad thing. With a better side we could genuinely still win this match, but right now a draw is the goal and then try for a miracle if the opportunity arises

Normally I'm all for going for the win as much as possible but this is all about overs now. 60 left in the day, we really need to bat 40 of those.

Yeah we do need to bat another 40 overs at least but if we only have a 50 run lead it'll be an easy win anyway for England.
The way I see it is every 4 runs we make is another over England will need to bat for the win. Approximately anyway.

Yeah but if Smith is there for 40, and even MDarsh/Paine is around for 20, you'll pick up enough runs. 40 overs at 2.5 an over gives us a lead around 120-130 and 20 overs or less to bowl. Right now these two need to consolidate and then be a bit smart about who they target.

That being said more singles would be nice, but I suppose Smithy has to protect the tail ender.
