Mmm Haddin out already, new ball due soon. If it seams around like yesterday we may not end up with much of a lead.

Rogers gone now.

Great knock. But the lead now looks to be negligible.

Those dreams of a 100 run lead have vanished pretty quick. Hope these two can stick around, the 2 to come aren't much with the bat.

They're just gonna have to have a go here and hope for some luck. Not gonna last long defending against the new ball on this pitch

I'll be happy with a 30-40 run lead.

Warner averages 38.9 opening the batting for Australia. Phil Hughes averages 34.6.

Why is Hughes a test opener and Warner not a test opener? Because he has less runs? Worse average? Less regular scores of fifty plus?

It shouldnt even be about Warner, it should be about Hughes, who could just score some consistent runs for Australia if he wants to play in the test team. At the moment he's shown himself unable to step up to test cricket.
He got dropped. He went away to work on his technique. He did. Since his comeback his averages against fast bowling have been excellent. The only thing bringing him unstuck is facing spinners early. That is a very obvious problem when you play a natural opener down the order.

If he had the same oppurtunities Warner had in India and here at the top of the order he would have done so much more with it.

Well we have a lead at least. Need to have a dip and see if we can up to around a 50 run lead.
