so you haven't watched any of the Ashes Locky ?

I have and a few tail end wickets to pad up his stats doesn't change my view. Starc has wasted the new ball all series. Useless, get rid of him.

Hope this serves notice- no more picking blokes off ODI form. I thought we learnt after we picked Maxwell in a test side! Obviously not...

Jason Behrendoff has 10 times better Shield stats. If we are so hellbent on two left armers, why not play him..

Isn't he recovering from an injury

Not sure, even so there are better options than picking Starc with no red ball form. Could not give two hoots what he did against the West Indies, a drunk bowling blind folded would get wickets against them. Bollinger would be better, NCN.

This rubbish from picking ODI players in test cricket is beyond dumb. As it is we have the whole top 6 bar Smith and Rogers that want to score like a ODI game and we wonder why we have collapses...well here is an idea, play like a test match you fruit cakes!

Shane Wazn's ferocious pace is exactly what we need

TBH I am with the Charlatan with respect to Wazn.... But, you lot to do overrate the importance of pace (and some should go back an look at McGath, Alderman, Gilmour etc - McGrath was not quick by any stretch, and Alderman was possibly slower than Watson late in his career), especially in these greener conditions... at the end of the day line and length, seam position and batting technique are more important - I kind of agree with the talk that the bigger disappointment bowling wise in that test was Hazlewood, although dropping him would be a travesty...

Your top 6 (Rogers aside) just didn't adapt

Nice rant

So he's bowled a couple of good balls each test ?

How do you take 12 wickets from 6 balls ?

I would think he was selected for the Ashes on the back of his test match from in the Windies not his ODI form from last year.

Sidds played a season for Nottinghamshire so he knows the deck.

But no, just no.

Please pick Siddle.

Thanks already for picking Darsh. But now make it an extra special day by picking Siddle as well.

Jason Behrendorf is recovering from stress fractures in his lower back.

Would still bowl better than Starc has all series. What an overrated and very soft lemon. Pity they won't punt on Pattinson/Cummins. I know who I would prefer.

Have you seen the West Indies? To say they are terrible would be an absolute understatement. They are hopeless. I'd be more concerned if Starc wasn't getting wickets against them!

Starc is worse than MJ was before he got dropped...whacked for boundaries, gets a wicket off a wide half volley, relies of batsmen getting themselves out.

I would play Siddle and that says a lot!

Hazlewood did not have his best test (although he got hoiked after any bad over, unlike Starc), but didn't bowl as poorly as Starc.

McGrath had bounce, which more than compensated for any lack of pace. I agree pace is not so important over in England but it is still useful (just not pace alone). Need a bit of control with it also

Terry Alderman wasn't quick either but it didn't stop him from taking 83 wickets in two tours over there.
