Hazlewood did not have his best test (although he got hoiked after any bad over, unlike Starc), but didn't bowl as poorly as Starc.

Clarke's captaincy doesn't look so flash atm either - Warne wont agree, but Cook has generally been better...

Haze averages like 20 with the ball and there's talk of him getting dropped for 1 medicore test lol,Shane Wazn survived 40 years being a consistent donkey

Dem selectors doe

I know right?

Haze should be persisted with.

Starc is a confidence bowler, not sure whether it's healthy to have two bowlers like that (Johnson,) but I am not sure whether that there is anyone else out there who can do a better job when Starc is peaking.

Do tell when has this 'peak' happened with the red ball?:?

In the absence of a better option, he'll play - his upside his huge. Prior to the World Cup Trent Boult had done nothing with a white ball - Starc has, as you Aussies seem to say, all the toys...

That thinking went along way of making Glenn Maxwell bat at 3 in test cricket...you know it will suck if you have half an idea about test cricket. This whole idea of picking blokes off a World Cup is ridiculous, it isn't red ball cricket.

It wasn't an explicit statement about his form with the red ball. He has shown that he is a dangerous bowler in ODI's. I think his only pitfall in the long form is the game is that when he gets taken for runs, he gets done badly.

He's taken 12 wickets in 3 matches, it's not a terrible effort at all. He's taken more wickets than Anderson.

Anyway, like I said, I'm all for replacing him when there's an obvious replacement. I would like to see him work with McDermott and see if he can work on his plans a bit better. Worked for Johnson.

I don't care how he has bowled in ODI's. Test cricket is so much different to ODI's, the fact that batsman have to get on with it in ODI's helps Starc, in test cricket they just wait for the bad ball (and plenty of them) put them away and block the others.

The fact that selectors are picking ODI players is half the reason we are so inconsistent!

I also don't know who we're expected to pick ahead of Starc. Siddle and his military mediums, or Cummins with his bones of glass.

How Behrendoff hasn't played a test and Starc has been gifted so many is a joke. Yes he has an injury right now but still. I'd rather play Siddle at least he will put it on the stumps rather than Starc and his 1 good ball a blue moon.

Negative call to go the extra batsman in a must win game, it's not like Voges has done much better. We just need to get through thr first session and lay a platform for out bowlers like at Lords.
