Sad that someone who played 100+ tests bowed out in such a manner and didn't get the big farewell that Warne/McGrath/Langer got at the SCG in 2007.
When I think about it, several 100+ test players were unceremoniously pushed out, most notably M Waugh, Boon and Healy.
M Waugh and Healy pretty much retired after being left out of the squad for the upcoming home test match in Brisbane, Boon was given the subliminal message from the selectors to bow out after being omitted from the 1996 World Cup squad (and the Aussies weren't going to play another test match for 9 months)
Ponting, and Hayden, same as Boon, but both played on one season too long IMO. Clarke wasn't the same player after Phil Hughes' death and also got the tap on the shoulder just before we lost the 2015 Ashes series.
