Haha were useless.

Will they also chuck Konstas out when Bumrah nicks him off 4 times for the rest of the series?

he hasn't been any worse than others and he's done better than Manus

I wonder if they are just looking for a scapegoat so they can get Konstas in
The optics are horrendous on this. Kids being hung out to dry and Marnus retains his spot.

CODE Sports reported that as of Thursday night, a behind-the-scenes push for Konstas had him poised to be added to the Boxing Day squad; though reserve batter Josh Inglis also remains in the mix to play.

ffs What about Thunder and Davey ???

Kon will miss 5 games minimum for the Thunder if the plays the next 2 tests

The correct decision. You can't spend that amount of time not trying to score.

Smith should have stayed opening and McSweeney should have bat 4 or 5 but he did fail badly

Marsh should be dropped. Gets a free ride at 6 andstill averages 30. McSweeney should get a go at 6.

Happy with Konstas coming in but ffs, Golden Fraud should be the one booted, rooted and never to return

Remember when Marsh cried because the Australian crowds booed him?

Boo the useless prick again.

As opposed to all the other T20 boneheads being so successful trying to score (Trav excluded).

You can't rag on T20 as the death of cricket and then also rag on an old school Test approach...

dont mind Konstas getting a gig - but dropping McSweeney for not performing in a role that he is learning at international level against the best bowler in the world.

Dropping McSweeney is a horrible decision. To think you'd plonk him in as opener against India in bowler friendly conditions and drop him after 3 tests is just ridiculous. Another career down the toilet.

If they were content with dropping McSweeney after 3 tests then he never should have been picked in the first place. Terrible call.

Good luck Inglis/Konstas. But if we lose this test it will be more than players who get the chop. Selectors needs to go as well.

Not even looking to score isn't an old school approach. I'd happily drop Marsh and bat McSweeney there for the next 2 tests if I was in charge

Come on mate, If Zachary Crawley can average the same and be an integral part of bazball

Surely the flying Bison can with the World test Champions 👀🐃

Jokes aside, I think should be last test series for both Marsh (dropped now) and Khawaja (end of series if cant get going)

McSweeney needed to be given a go down the order next two tests

Khwaja has a horrible home record v India

8 tests
374 runs
Ave 23.37

(away in india)
4 tests at 47.57

Kinda think he will be needed on the SL tour? But will be one of the ones to retire / be moved on within 12 months you would imagine ?

You can't play Inglis (except if it's for Marsh). I have a mancrush on Inglis but unless he's absolutely dominating with the bat he's not there as a test class batsman. Keeper/batsman, no problems, but Carey is doing enough not to be replaced.

He has looked to score the two innings he's lasted to a point where he's felt he had the opportunity. Adelaide especially, second inns of the last test was a write off really.

I don't think you can fault the bloke for starting out tying to survive against the best bowler in the world, in a new role, as a debutant.

He shouldn't have been picked but he didn't do well is a fair assessment.

Strange that they supplement Dad’s Army with a young fella that doesn’t normally open against the best quick in the world, then look to drop him for a younger opener…. While some of the old men have looked equally bad, or in some cases demonstrably worse…. Makes sense..,

I think the point though is he did about as well as he could and dropping him is a farce, tbh.

I don't think anyone would say he's killed it. But he showed he has the attitude needed and failing against the best bowler in the world is hardly something you can blame a veteran of three tests for. He's batted better than Uzi and Darsh, at least. Probably as well as Labs on balance. He doesn't deserve the flick
