I was reading something the other day about someone standing blocking his being dumped as captain, which apparently India wanted to do 12 months ago. Not surprising, but I think he should remain India captain for the time being. Especially considering it's probably Kohli who's next in line

Yeah I read that too, someone from outside the selectors, a power figure of sorts

let them keep fart assing around, well at least till australia bends them over in March/April 2013 :D

how crap is the Indian attack if Swan can make a fifty and is that the worst ever attempt at a reverse sweep that he got out on

he was never gonna hit that

I read that Gautam gambhir is next in line but surely his place in the team is a shaky as anyones

Yeah, Kohli has definately always been mentioned a a future captain but thats mainly for ODI's and T20's.

He has alot more experience in those forms of the game. He is only relatively new to Test cricket.

Either way though, they're f**ked.

Gamhbir has a horrible, selfish attitude and i think he would make a horrible captain.

India have avoided the follow on and are going really slowly, but more importantly from their perspective without loss so far this morning. Half an hour until lunch India 133/4 trail by 197

With the very sluggish run rate, This match is shaping up to be a draw

Unless the pitch disintegrates (which might very well happen) in the 3rd innings

Both these teams have a lot of plodders. I reckon if we're on our game we can beat them both in 2013.

Playing England in England with the Duke ball in swinging conditions means we'll have to be more than on our game. We'll have to be at 150% and every player in the Australian team needs to play at their absolute best (something which hasn't happened on a long time). Many of our batsmen are susceptible to genuine swing eg. Warner, Hughes, Watson and Wade. Cowan's actually not a bad player of swing and neither are Clarke and Hussey (given that their still in their purple patch). And before you say Hughes etc played over in England and made a ton of runs.. That wasn't against Anderson, Finn & Broad. Anderson is particular, he could single handedly win the Ashes for England if he bowls at his best. I have faith that we can with the urn back but I'm not overly confident.

As for India, they need to win this test to have some confidence back and gain some sort of momentum heading into the series with Australia. However if they lose to England in this game, the series 3-1 and don't make changes then we could win a rare series in India. My biggest concern is that Tendulkar announces that the series vs. Australia will be his last and the whole Indian team lift for the series.

I think Dhoni and Kohli did tremendously well to patiently stay out there and make the runs they did. Yes lol at Dhoni for getting run out on 99. And well done to England for capitalising when the first wicket fell and sticking to it through the frustrating periods. I do think England are on to right now and i do think Cook will make another century...
