Why the hell did he set them so many when you are already two up???

Hopefully they hang on for the draw, it would serve Kholi right.

Haha, gotta love the old Chris Tavare. He'd thrive in this Test.

yeah the 2nd test was, though India were in control in the little time that was played

These are the top 4 test ranking sides BEFORE this series (ind v SA)

rank/team/played/points/rating

1 South Africa 24 3008 125
2 Australia 36 3922 109
3 Pakistan 28 2977 106
4 India 27 2710 100

If this series stands at 2-0 (ie SA draw this 4th test)

1 South Africa 29 3360 116
2 India 32 3487 109
3 Australia 36 3922 109
4 Pakistan 28 2977 106

If India win it 3-0 then they go outright into 2nd, SA would have lost 11 points on the rankings, which is huge (India gain the 11).

1 South Africa 29 3310 114
2 India 32 3537 111
3 Australia 36 3922 109
4 Pakistan 28 2977 106

for those interested, the next ranked sides are

5 England 40 3940 99
6 New Zealand 36 3429 95
7 Sri Lanka 35 3274 94
8 West Indies 29 2218 76

yup

petrified of not losing lol

Could have comfortably declared 30min into day 4 and SA still no chance

Understandable if it was an away series, but jesus Christ they have everything to their advantage and still terrified

The again, they would have thought 5 sessions was plenty to bowl them out

Cheers for that.

Let's hope South Africa draw it.

It's good that 1-8 are pretty tight, with home advantage being telling throughout

Tavare was different, he just couldn't score - the versatility of de Villiers is staggering tbh...

It has been very impressive already, but it would be absolutely massive if SA could get out of this last test with a draw. Wish the aussie batsmen had this ability to survive for long periods.

Hutty is right, I wish the Aussie batsman could dig in like this to save a game. Although there is still a lot of play to get through today it has been an impressive performance to just dig in.

I assume that it's smog all over the place and not rain closing in?

smog

Delhi is the most polluted city in the world, making cities like Beijing look like a tropical paradise

That's smog, Delhi is crazy polluted.
I'm in Bangalore right now watching this, much cleaner here thankfully.

Bangalore? You there for work?

AB what a champion, has all the shots in the book but when he has too he can just stonewall. Hope they can hang on for a draw.

Yeah, Allan Border was tough as nuts, frustrated the hell out of his opponents, and saved his team on many occasions. Was just watching highlights of the 1985 Boxing Day test vs India the other day and his 77 run 10th wicket partnership with Dave Gilbert (ensuring the draw) was very heroic during the dark Rebel Tour years. AB, true champion

On the other hand.....

I just saw South Africa got bowled out. Sucks to see AB De Villiers wasn't tough enough to hold on for the draw:lol:
