5 Penalties Straight

Geez louise, some people need to learn to read.

Everyone seems to agree that all the penalties we conceded were fair. Fine. So we conceded 12.

Now, can anyone say with complete confidence, that were equivalent instances when Canberra should have been penalised?

DA said one (which I didnt see so maybe someone else can comment).

If you can't think of specific instances, then what is the problem?

If you were to label gays, women or black people this way, you would be called a bigot.

There is a very fine line between having a discussion and religious bigotry.

Do try and keep your Christophobia out of this.

how offensive

mate i was shocked by your avatar.

i didn't think you would be a fan of swedish death metal.

entombed? - good taste in music mate ;-)

I will agree with that second poast Goangod but I really think we are arguing over very little here. Most of us agree that we wouldnt have won the game however it is churlish to suggest Hayne had a good game. We were sh!thouse doesnt mean the refs perfomance should be free of blame

cheers

I know ST - I already said that hayne is the worst ref in the game.

But the way I saw it - I can find very little to fault in the way he penalised us tonight.

Hybrid we weren't that bad.we didn't have the ball

Maybe, but when we did have it we passed it to Canberra, dropped it, kicked it to them on the full, had no 5th tackle options and generally no organisation whatsoever.

That's pretty bad in my books.

We made an extra 100 tackles yet the score was 32-24.

Canberra should have killed us with their possesion.

But hey, lets send our congrats to the ref on a job well done.

I agree that we were holding down a fair bit but not all the penalties were sufficient and Raiders were NOT penalised for things worse than ours.

In my book it was impossible to tell how we played. We were penalised out of it. Noone can say what would or would not have happened with a more even penalty count. All I know is we were NEVER going to have a chance copping calls like that.

Goan, ever thought that the fact we kept getting penalised meant we kept commiting offences? If you can't get the ball you fatigue. As the commentators said, if your fatigued you start giving penalties away. It's not rocket science.

Geez lets be realistic, we conceeded 13 penalties, and were awarded 2. I don't deny we gave away penalties, but the fact that the Raiders are APPARENTLY near perfect does get up my nose. We had no chance of winning, when the referee only refereed ONE side. So we will never know the true indication, so there is no point in arguing it.

I will disagree with one, Heighnos on the druggo fullback. He was deadset holding Rhinos arm. Rhino had his other arm in the air yelling at the ref' his holding me' and Hayne just penalised him. Than you saw the little druggo give this massive smirk when he turned to his teamates.

That's fair enough BB and I agree with the fatigue angle. Yet at the end of the day, these players are professionals - our discipline round the ruck area was extremely ordinary today.

And this is the thing for me - if I thought Hayne was unnecessarily picking on us, I would be agreeing with everyone here. But having watched the match, the penalties we conceded were fair. Obviously other people have different opinions, but that is fine. Keep blaming the ref and we will never improve.

Yep - I agree on that one as well. The commentators picked it up too.

A lot of the time Darren and co weren't giving the best passes from Dummy Half ending up with pressure being put on Kerr.

I agree with that Nick but Keiran made other big mistakes as well.

My only problem with Hayne wasnt the penalty count - it was, if you penalise a team 5 times for EXACTLY the same thing - then why not send someone off? Why not make an example of someone so the game can on without so many penalties?

Why keep penalising?

In all fairness Goangod the reason why I have had a go at your religion in the past is that you have made some distasteful comments about the Muslim religion. If you want respect for your religion than perhaps you should give it to others. Thats called consistency. Closely lnked to the problem of hyprocisy i discussed earlier. But I say let bygones be bygones

I was going to comment on the slow service from dummy half.

Will the ever learn to pass off the ground?

In all fairness ST I think you misunderstand my position.

I do not mock Muslims, I do not vilify their sacred beliefs, nor do I deride their rituals. My comments are purely to do with Islamic doctrine, its content and the presence of violence within it. I can say this having studied Islam, although I am by no means an expert.

If you disagree with my comments on Islamic doctrine, then by all means debate me. If you disagree with the tenets of Christianity then we can debate that as well. But i object to unfounded, highly personal, derogatory comments about my faith - or anyone elses.

mate i undertsand that. Lets just put it down to a misunderstanding. Dont get me wrong I dont support the Islam. I think all religions are equally cuplable. I have done a little bit on middle east politics. I hold the view that it has little to do with religion and more to do with other factors but that is for another time.
I declare a truce :)

cheers
