Are we happy with that? There was plenty of talk in the days leading up to the game that it might be 60000 or even 70000.

What was the weather like? Did it affect the walk-up crowd? Any other factors?

Pretty disappointing. I guess neutrals don't come to Telstra and they don't go to Dogs matches at night.

I was always a bit sceptical about some of the predictions about the "walk up crowd"...

Seems like a bigger myth than the "Dogs of War"....

A good crowd though.. some people just got a bit carried away....

LOL!! you guys are kidding...i tipped 48k at the game..

it was the 2nd biggest semi final crowd at telstra stadium ever...the dragons sharks crowd the other year was 1,000 bigger and it was a prelim final, not a week 2 final...

it was an outstanding crowd, great atmosphere. It was a little windy which may have affected the walkup crowd, but breaking 50k is outstanding.

Dickhead Queenslanders. 50k on the dud weekend for semis, with 7/9ths of Sydney teams not involved. It was a good crowd, get over it!

How many were at Lang Park today?

All without the blockbuster and newspaper hype.Wait until next week when the pies and the cats meet,,could possibly nearly fill the MCG.

60,000 had it been played on a Sunday.

The Cowboys-Warriors would have been sold out mid-week had it been played on a Sat night.

So much for more flexibility with finals schedualing this year from the NRL.

?

I thought it would be a good comparison between the two leagues games.

Both were in very similar situations ie. Two old Melbourne rivals and two of Sydney's fiercest rivals, each playing for a semi-final equilivant.

You obviously haven't been to melbourne or you are simply playing it down for convenience. The Melbourne media is awash with AFL and newspapers run 24 page liftouts Mondays and Friday just for AFL alone. No other sports matter.

AFL would have enjoyed 5 times the print media coverage in Melbourne over the last week than the NRL in Sydney as it always does.

It will definately be sold out.

Collingwood fans alone could do it.

An Eels v Dogs prelim final played on a Sunday would be a cracking crowd as well.

Dragons v Tigers a couple of years ago could have been anything had it been played at the bigger Telstra Stadium.
