You obviously haven't been to melbourne or you are simply playing it down for convenience. The Melbourne media is awash with AFL and newspapers run 24 page liftouts Mondays and Friday just for AFL alone. No other sports matter.

AFL would have enjoyed 5 times the print media coverage in Melbourne over the last week than the NRL in Sydney as it always does.

no more than what sydney does with the nrl and trust me soccer is starting too get bigger as well pretty soon the newspaper will have a 12 page liftout on the a-league lol

Considering what a geniused performance both teams put on, its amazing any of them stayed for the second half.

50 thousand for a week 2 semi is disappointing? I dont understand that at all.

Most people predicted 50 and thats what we got, if it was week 3 there would have been another 10 thousand.

So should we also include the crowd at the last performance of Madam Butterfly?????

Crowds at an Australian Fairies League fixture has nothing to do with the number of lucky people witnessing Parra giving Canterbury a thorough towelling!!!!!!

Yes, you are totally right. Should have called the game off, and instead showed a video of Brisbane's last thrilling 160 minutes of 2007.

Dickhead.

Or better yet, more replays of 98 and 2001.

f**ktard.

I just hope your canary spastics play like that aginst the storm. We can add another hilarious chapter in Eels finals history.

Knights fans know all about geniused performances in 2007

It was a decent crowd but as someone said would've cracked at least 55,000 maybe even 60,000 if it was played Sunday

Are League fans ever happy? I guess we are just a very ambitious race, not a bad flaw to have I suppose

2007 finals history is looking a dams site better than yours numbnuts. I can't remember anyone putting 40 on Parra in a finals series, unlike Brisbane. can you remember the last finals game at Shark Park? Or are you struggling to remember last week?

They found Wayne Bennet yet for the press conference?

BTW, if you are looking for the QUEENSLAND CUP, it's now in NSW!!!!!!!

Dickhead Queenslanders. 50k on the dud weekend for semis, with 7/9ths of Sydney teams not involved. It was a good crowd, get over it!

How many were at Lang Park today?

Mate, Lang Park would have got 50000 for Canterbury v Parramatta.

Lose the f**kin attitude won't ya.

I make it (according to Paul's statistics) the 7th highest finals crowd (besides grand finals) in NSWRL/NRL history. It's also the highest week 2 final crowd since the introduction of a top 8 finals system.

Fantastic effort.

74,981 at the North-Melbourne v Hawthorn game

A lot of league fans like to watch on TV and not at the ground.

AFL usually has higher 'at ground' ratings, but league craps all over it in TV ratings.

Great crowd. Anyone suggesting otherwise is hard to please.

It was a great crowd and awesome atmosphere!

Surprisingly we had hardly any traffic issues which was good too!

There would have been a few more thousand at least on a Sunday afternoon. The weather today is excellent in Sydney today!

Our transport was perfect. Drove from work just off the freeway at Gosford down to Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River and caught the train from there. We were in the ground before 7pm and seated shortly after. The longest line all day was the ATM. Post-game we stuck around in the stadium, I had a chat to a couple of the Parra guys and gals from this forum and then we got ushered out around 20 minutes after fulltime. Made our way slowly to the train, got to Strathfield, disembarked on Platform 4 and our train to Newcastle on Platform 3 literally pulled in right there and then. Quick and efficient train ride home too. Couldn't have been a better night in that respect, just a pity about the result.
