50k was the pass mark in my eyes.

Anything lower would have been disappointing.

60k would have been great.

Maybe next year when the Rabbits take on the Dogs in the Prelim final on a Sunday.

50K was a good turn out. Let's get real, 50K crowds to a Rugby League match of any kind are rare so no matter how much we would've liked to have seen turn up you can't really knock the the result that eventuated.

The only reason it seems dissapointing to some here is most likely due to the constant fantasy predictions that we hear much too often. Talk of a 70K crowd, 15K+ walkups, etc. I mean really...

A 50K crowd in Sydney after what's been served up in previous seasons is a step in the right direction at the very least. I'm quite pleased with the result.

I can't believe this.

If you can't be happy with a 50K + crowd you might as well turn emo cuz you'll be in a state of depression for the rest of your life !

Where are the figures from? OzTam have a habit of bullsh*te figures.

And I'm still boggled as to how ratings are ever accurate. They don't take into account what my TV is tuned into.

It was a bloody boring game, the peak would have been high but people would have switched off in droves.

A lot of league fans like to watch on TV and not at the ground.

AFL usually has higher 'at ground' ratings, but league craps all over it in TV ratings.

50K hopefully next season we see an increase, and a trend to follow.

Simply we just need to get people used to attending rather than sitting at home

Mate, Lang Park would have got 50000 for Canterbury v Parramatta.

Lose the f**kin attitude won't ya.

LOL. After the pasting you lot gave Sydney for Tri Nations crowds, and having a few empty seats for Origin, and given that this thread was started by a whinging Queenslander, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?

Personally, I'm rapt that Dogs fans and Eels fans could unite for the code in such a way that the code got a huge shot in the arm amid considerble coverage of AFL and Union in their biggest events. On top the packed Brookie cauldron, DFS and the phenomenal black passion at Mt Smart last week, weare headed for the most attended finals series in history.

Brisbaneites - so quick to bag anything else, are quiet in acknowledging Sydney, Auckland and Townsville (and Melbourne next week) flexing their muscles for League.

Finally - 50k for Eels v Dogs at Lang Park? Given that brisban's average is far less than that, I'd say the Broncos need an urgent marketing excercise. In doing so, please omit any Bronco fotage from 2007.

2007 finals history is looking a dams site better than yours numbnuts. I can't remember anyone putting 40 on Parra in a finals series, unlike Brisbane. can you remember the last finals game at Shark Park? Or are you struggling to remember last week?

They found Wayne Bennet yet for the press conference?

BTW, if you are looking for the QUEENSLAND CUP, it's now in NSW!!!!!!!

Lol this is how desperate eels fans are. They have to gloat about a finals series they havent even won.

I guess the clubs perpetual 'alsoranism' has become deeply entrenched lol.

LOL@ TV ratings. Did anyone catch David Morrow's thoughts on OZTAM's stats yesterday?

IN similar vein, has anyone got the list for the NEXT 5 most populous towns in comparison: ie Gold Coast, Canberra, Newcastle, Sunshine Coast, Townsville? How about Auckland?

Interesting to note that more Perth residents watch Dr Who than there are AFL fans in Sydney. I wonder how the Iron Chef did?

As usual, your dopamine levels failed to allow a connection between your 2 brain cells. I'm hardly gloating about our finals series, per se, but I am laughing quite hard about yours!

I'm sure the annals of History will again provide you with a retort. Who did you beat again? Glebe wasn't it?

We need another 174,741 to beat 1999 (that's the most attended finals series in recent history, I'm not sure if it's the most attended ever).

Assuming we get 25,000 this afternoon and 82,500 for the grand final that still leaves 67,241 for the two finals in week 3. Not impossible but also far from certain.

Manly/Cowboys would get 30 thousand but Manly/Warriors would easily fill the SFS so i hope Warrriors win today.
