You also need to make sure you don't lose a 3rd wicket while the openers are still on...

You've got to face 30 overs from Lee, Bracken and McGrath. You can't afford to get tied down, they should have a plan to attack at least one of those guys afterwise you can kiss goodbye to the match. Fleming currently has a strike rate of 28, that's not even good enough in Test cricket. He may as well get himself out as he's no use to us in the middle.

Fleming gone, what a waste of space innings. 12 from 43 balls, way to lead from the front and give confidence to the rest of the batting order.

Better than getting out when we were 7/2...

He is in terrible form and the more time he spends out there the better imo.

In normal circumstances I would agree with you regarding him wasting balls etc but our batting has been so poor that it was vital for him to see out Lee...

Why don't you guys just let us bat first I want to see more of our batters.

I agree. Very unsporting from the Kiwis, they should think of the fans

No he purely wasted balls. See out Lee and you've got Bracken down the other end, then once they both go you have McGrath and Clarke coming into the attack. It never ends, why don't we just see them all out.

As I said earlier, I'd rather see us skittled out actually trying to win this rather than just trying to keep the match respectable. Maybe Bracewell thinks respectable will keep him his job well I hope it doesn't come as a surprise to him when the axe falls after the world cup.

Well hamish Marshall was a masterstroke. He'll have to save his thirty in the field now.
