Is the pitch even that bad ? The bowling is but there is seam if the bowlers hit the right area.

No pitch should allow a match where 330 seems below par.
We've seen how the men in blue handle genuine swing and bounce.

The plod bowlers do add to that though, agreed.

Yeah OK but when has the ball ever swung in Australia. This looks a pretty standard late summer scg pitch.

The issue is that modern batsmen just feast on this crap.

Maybe not specifically swing in this series example, but there was a LOT more help for bowlers back in the day.

In this series we're just waiting for batsmen's mistakes (like just now).

Fantastic catch though!

I think batsmen thanks to t20 cricket and professionalism and big bats and the ropes up are just very good at belting the ball.

Statistically there are no more people averaging over 50 than the 30s in test cricket.

I think the first thing the icc should do is limit the bat sizes IMO.

Anyways good catch.

Start there, then regulate boundary sizes.
Power plays are nonsense too.

Pitch and outfield are a bit more subjective so not sure how you'd police that.

Also its imo vastly easy to be a very good batsman than a very good bowler. So when a side loses a lot of fast bowlers it weakens them a lot more than losing a few bats...in theory.

Start there, then regulate boundary sizes.

They already have. Exemptions for old small grounds like Eden Park.

But Australian boundaries are big and so are scores there.

Boundary sizes means less than people believe. So many balls are hit 80 to 105 metres. And then more.
