Smith's shot was poor too. After he was so disappointed not to see the team home on Friday I thought he'd be there at the end tonight.

I was right. Faulkner, you beauty!

However, we made the job so much harder for ourselves. Should've won that easily

Glenn Maxwell has absolutely no idea how to bat sensibly, he tried to but you could see when he couldn't take it anymore he tried to play some spastic erratic shot with no footwork what so ever.. good stuff Glenn, just hand your wicket away

Why is Faulkner not talked about in the tests. Bat Haddin 6 and Faulkner 7. Faulkner has such composure.

With a grand total of ZERO FC tons is a reason why Faulkner isn't in the test side, not to mention Mitch Marsh is MUCH better...and Haddin is barely batting at a number 7 level, let alone a number 6!

Plus the fact Faulkner isn't pulling his weight with the ball in the one day side. He's a bowler who can slap a few runs, ATM he's doing his secondary job very well but isn't much chop at his first job.

I don't like the show, he's an overrated hack who thinks he's about a million times better than reality but he has bowled very well during this series. He's kept it tight and got the odd key wicket when required. ATM if you were picking a spinner for the ODI format he'd be it on form. Sad but true.

you are right, what does that say about the other spin bowling options??

With the bat he's a poor mans Afridi but far less consistent.

I think anyone bowling spin to SA would do a decent job in this series, just that Maxwell was the regular spinner and bowled the majority of spin to them, so the only one that can be judged with a decent sample pool. Not sure he is worth keeping in the side for 6 overs a game (his average across 4 games)

Smith took 1/17 yesterday from 5 overs (only bowled 8 overs in total)
Xavier wasn't given much of a chance 6 overs 0/31

Like Hiney has said, who are the other options? Maxwell may be in the side by default only. Unless we try a newbie like Boyce or Muirhead, or just stick with Xavier
