It didn't say anywhere that Austin was allowed to negotiate just that canberra are interested and the Austin wants a first grade spot - thier was no mention of the Tigers letting him go - but to be honest if it isn't next year then its the year after because Brooks, Moses and Austin and are all FG halves and you can't have 3

The Tigers really don't like having depth for some reason. Strange, when you consider they rely on it more than most.

Austin has played well to me you sell high. Release him to Canberra with Lawrence who is on big coin $450k + Austin circa $150-$200k. use the funds on a centre or two that can play.

I expected Luani to be granted a release, he needs to make room for Cherrington. I expect Moltzen to see out his contract with us, simply because I doubt any club would take him considering his injuries and drama involved with the Dragons last time. Hopefully Rowe can get a crack elsewhere, too many critics expecting too much from a backup half after being spoiled by Tedesco's form as a glass cannon.

Blake Austin deserves a starting six role and he deserves better than our shambolic club. He have to give away coaching the Doonside Roos if he went to Canberra though.

Didn't Austin sign for 3 years when he came over from Penrith ?,considering he has probably been our best and most dependable player all year, i would seriously doubt the WT would be thinking of releasing him when he is not the problem within our team.

Two year contract apparently. Given that Moses is related to a former club great and has been talked up ad nauseum, I could totally see Austin being allowed to move on before his contract is up.

Someone must have a grudge in recruiting. Maybe the sacking of Sheens has Ronald hocking our talent out the door.
It would explain the Korobiete decision also. Why are we ever entertaining Austens departure when we dont know who is coaching next year.
Stupid.

That article doesn't state that we are shopping Austin around. It does state that he wants the 6 jersey.

Personally I wouldn't give it to him. I'd play him at 13 or in the centres.

Brown has basically zero motor and has been good for penalties conceded and getting dominated by opposition packs.

Buchanan has been better by a long way this season

Cant we wait until a coach is sorted before releasing players?
Im so frustrated the way things are being done.

What's the go with Buchanan, he was very good last season but has not yearly got a look not this year. If he is being moved on I hope the knights make him a offer.

I think he should have been given a go this year. Ahead of Buchanan at least.

Buchanan got game time because he was in the top 25 squad I believe, which meant he wasn't chewing up the second tier cap.

That was his reward for filling in big time last year I gather.

he's been quite good in the lower grades, but in a rarity for the Tigers, was stuck behind other forwards in decent form in Woods, Seumanufagai, Taupau, Gavet, Sue and even Lodge.

Thanks I thought it may have had something to do with some of the quality signings you guys have made up front.

I've got a great deal.

We take LOLtzen, Brown and Rowe's final year of their contracts off your hands, you release Blake Austin to us and he's our 5/8th

We cant spend our cap money, and can swallow those three plodders for a year. You get them off your books, we get Austin, you move forward with Brooks-Moses and Teddy, without a disgruntled Austin.

it's win-win.
