I haven't got the new Dream Theater one...I don't mind their stuff, but I don't necessarily buy it.

And Dream Theater, I'm with you, too - like them, but this is the first time I've actually bought an album of theirs. I like it, though.

I completely agree.

In fact, the point was never clearer to me than with "The Ring" (aka "Ringuu" in Japanese). "Ringuu" was, in my opinion, brilliant - creepy and very atmospheric.

The Yanks added no suspense and extra gore and ruined it for no apparent reason.

The one thing I really, really cannot stand is rape as a means to make the audience hate a character.

For example, in "The Hills Have Eyes" that entire scene in the trailer sickened me. It as purely so you would think, "Man, now I really hope the bad guys get their comeuppance!" and added nothing to the story at all. With decent writing and acting you wouldn't need that scene to hate the mutants.
