New computers are a curse imo. It always takes a good month or two to get the damn things back to the same comfort level you had with your old one. Plus there is always some stupid new program that has been pre-loaded on the thing, that is utter garbage and just serves to use up all your resources and ask you stupid questions at bad times. Usually it has been installed by the maker and you can't get rid of the friggin thing because it has been weaved in to work with your op system or bios.

This computer takes up to 15 attempts to start, crashes without warning probably a third of the time, freezes more than that, has a broken CD drive and half the programs don't work....I reckon I can deal with a new one :p lol

FMD, Eels vs. Cowboys this week.

How do you tip a winner there? Both have been playing like sh*t. Think I'll go with the Eels at home. They haven't been very inspiring but the Cowboys play extra bad away from home.

That's why I either build my own, or just get a mac. Currently got a mac and probably won't switch back to PC.

Usually I buy off Auction sites. My current PC at home is a factory rebuild. Retailed for around the $1200 mark and I picked it up for $300 with two years warranty. Been pretty good to me, but yeah it has some stupid inbuilt Compaq update software that is absolutely useless and just sucks up resources. I managed to disable it, but you can't remove it because its tied in to the op system. I don't mind PC's. I'm a tinkerer so if there is something not quite right with a new comp I mess around with it until I sort it out anyway. If you can save yourself a few hundred dollars in the process then its worthwhile imo. But yeah, I've found that, apart from homebuilt systems, every pc that I've bought has some sort of stupid issue that you need to sort out.

When I got a new HP recently I just wiped it and started from scratch to get rid of the inbuilt sh*t I didn't want.
Actually, the main reason is that they gave me Windows 7 32 bit, which can't actually utilise the 4gb of RAM. tards.

Yeah if you know what you're doing then formatting it and starting from scratch is the way to go. Done it many a time myself.

I reckon even the Cowboys are in with a decent shot of victory ...

In the past, I've had problems with buying HP PC's that don't actually have enough Ram to run the Op system effectively. My Mother picked up a HP PC that had XP pre-installed but only 512k Ram. Everyone knows you need at least 1Gig to run XP effectively, except my Mother and HP it seems.

My Mum is so frustrating though. When she wants something she just goes out and buys it. She went off and bought that PC knowing nothing about them. Didn't ask me or anyone else. Just rocked up to Harvey Norman, spent a motza and got a sh*t PC. Then I had to go and fix the damn thing up!!
