Insult me, hit me while I'm down, then spray salt into the open wound.

All for a friendly good morning

NRL Match Previews - Eels v Cowboys (Round 18)

North%20Queensland%20Cowboys.gif

12-07-2010 07:00PM at Parramatta Stadium
Referee: Ashley Klein and Jared Maxwell
Touch Judges: Adam Devcich and Luke Phillips
Referee: Tim Mander

Is it really an upset if the Cowboys get away with this one? Probably. The Cowboys seem to have severe internal strife tearing their season to shreds and winning this match would definitely surprise most punters based on that rumour. The Eels, meanwhile, have been defending gallantly in recent weeks (not including that horror 10 minutes v the Warriors) and will do so again here.
The question remains whether Daniel Mortimer and Jeff Robson can create more than 1 try between them. We say no but the Eels forward pack lifts for this one and it's enough to carry them home. Parramatta bounces back from a miserable 3 week stretch to claw home and salvage their season. Their pack and interchange bench is the difference in the end but if given enough space, Willie Tonga could do some damage and Thurston and Bowen are still capable of something.... but not on Monday night.
My Man of the Match Prediction: Tim Mannah
My Tip: Eels 18-12

Tom Humble isn't playing. You're screwed. Plus Thurston and Tonga are fired up after Wednesday night, ready to turn on the magic.

But please don't ask Paul :(

Warriors aren't playing, thus I will Hail Caesar, and Hail Caesar with pride.

No, because the lack of population means it is not economically viable to sell pharmaceuticals in the largely unpopulated jungle.

Christ you are a nub. 1) It's "Wanderlei". 2) That was ages ago, keep up.

If you just want to see people get knocked out then go watch boxing and street fights on youtube, clearly MMA isn't your sport: you're too much of a simpleton for it. MMA isn't about knocking people out, it's about combining areas of different martial arts for a more complete fight. This includes grappling, wrestling, clinch work as well as the stand up that the simpletons find so entertaining. I cannot stand so called "MMA fans" who watch it just to see people get knocked out. They're completely missing the point and can f**k right off.

And clearly neither have you.

I think I love you :ls:.

I was watching the M1 Challenge last night from 2009 and there was a killer lightweight fight between the Spanish fighter and the Dutch fighter. The Spaniard came out rearing, throwing knees and elbows and punches and cut the Dutch guy. He threw him down with a judo throw and started working the ground game. The referee stopped the fight momentarily so the Dutch fighter could get his eyebrow treated - they wiped it, put vaseline and a bandage on it. The fight was back on.

The Spaniard goes flying at the Dutch guy - and the Dutch guy pulls him down to the ground and slaps on a guillotine choke and BOOM! - instant tap out.

It lasted 3 minutes or so but it was so awesome.

Its funny, a lot of people tend to like the Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight fights because the guys are big, but I always find that Lightweight and to a lesser extent Welterweight fights usually tend to be good regardless of who's fighting. They're probably my favourite divisions, especially when under-card fights are concerned. I find that the bigger they get the worse the fights tend to be, with the exception of the top tier dudes. Heavyweight fights with low-ranked fighters, may as well not even bother watching most of the time.

Yeah I used to only like the heavyweights. But I've started watching lower weight divisions and it's amazing.

And I have to say, I am quickly becoming a big fan of Rashad Evans. He's not really likeable, but damn he can fight.

Rashad is a brilliant fighter, though I can't say I've seen any of his recent fights.

I only remember him because UFC 88 was on a while back. Pwned Liddell with a massive right midway through the second, he didn't move for a good while that's for sure.

My favourite moves would have to be, apart from the locks, the judo throws. Not least because I understand the techniques better than your average person, but moreso because it's a lot flashier than diving at an opponent, and judo is all about landing the opponent clean on his back, and being on top and in a lock in seconds.
