I had Nathan Cleary as my captain and he was awesome. He got me 10 points.
That's the part that can make you laugh or cry. I had as my hooker sjub conor watson who scored 70 last week and was injured this week halfway through first half. Most of us would have hit the elusive 1k if it wasn't for injuries.
It's a good way to enjoy actually following other teams/ players hey mate.

It's pretty funny right. I also had Tom Trbojevic in my team.

Tom is too erratic and a gamble.
You build your team around players who average high. For example player A doesn't hit the 70's but always scores mid 40's+. Player B can score 70 one week and 30 the next so I look at his last 5 rds average rather his overall average.
Another thing is a CWF can get starved of the ball if the game plan is to attack the other side so it's worth noting the opponents weak side.
One or more backs should be a goal kickers for extra points. AD is coming into calculations but I have V. Holmes.
Good edges are vital for their work rate and vary your captain according to how he'll go against opponents.
Our man May and Haas are har to bypass.
Your fullback must be a roaming player like Ponya cause they touch the ball more.
Hope that helps a bit mate.
Oh and of course try to have only two players from each club so as not to get caught out in bye rds.

Are we happy with where we are now?

I think if the Galvin crap can stay away we will be ok.
It's damned if you do and damned if you don't with him. If he stuffs up the Journos will say it's all too much for the lad and it's our fault and if he plays well the journos will say we should have handled it better.
All the players played well against Cronulla but some still could have played a bit better. However just when I was calling a dumb miss by someone, he would pull off a try saver or make a break.
I think we can improve heaps and will imo.
So it's the 8 then....maybe. :) Thoughts?

They have a massive decision to make when Latu Fainu comes back from injury that will crank up the media machine yet again.

If they dump Galvin back to reggies that story will re-start and Satan will likely start the legal process rather than just threatening to.

If they continue with Galvin (which in effect would mean they continue with him until the end of 2026) then the story is going to be about Latu. TBH, if we don't give him a crack I expect him to ask for a release, and I think he'd be well within his rights to ask for one. NRL360 would likely run with that story considering they backed us, and are anti-Satan / Galvin. Their support of us will only go so far. As soon as there's outrage to generate they'll be back to bashing the Tigers.

I never had the Tigs making the 8 this year. I think the fact that some advancements we've made which happened a lot quicker than I'd expected can be balanced out against the club de-stabilisation that's happened, and is likely to continue. I said at the start of the year I'd be happy with 8 wins. I think we can do better than that now, but maybe not 12 plus that we'd need. I reckon 9th to 12th.

Gees I hope I'm wrong though and they can do better.

Nothing less than top 8 now, is a pass mark.

I always said we can win the comp and I'll stick with it. If we make the finals it's a massive success and we can definitely make the finals.

I disagree with that.

For me, a passmark has nothing to do with ladder position and everything to do with improvements in our play.

We are a side with critical low depth in the pack. We are a May or S Fainu injury away from being in trouble.

In saying that, with one-third of the regular season done, I absolutely give this team a pass mark so far at least. They get a solid "B" from me so far.

I think we cross that bridge when we get to it. If one of Luai, Galvin, Api or TDS pick up an injury before then we have an easy decision to make. If we are flying at that point he comes back through reserve grade. If we crash and burn over the next month you can make the case for Galvin to get an early release and move on from the saga.

Agree, you can't plan for 2026 when 2025 is very much in play. Our best available get the first grade spot, regardless of who is staying and who is leaving. You only drop someone for (a) not being good enough or (b) being a merkin. Galvin is not my favourite person at the moment, but the man did have a dig.....keep him until Latu builds a good enough case for being as good or better.
