Roland, you will find that the rules of the challenge cup states that players must have played at a level similar to a grade and not higher than bundy cup.So you will find that Matt Utai and 6 players of his team will NOT be allowed to play in this comp

The Wenty vs Clair game is just a trial not part of the Challenge Cup even though both teams entered.

There were supposed to be 8 games this weekend but 4 teams have forfeited:

St Clair forfeited to Mounties
Forestville forfeited to Wenty
Hills forfeited to Moore Park
La Perouse forfeited to Cabra

There are 2 games at Marcellin

Coogee Randwick vs Auburn Warriors at 1pm
Bondi United vs Gymea at 2.30

and 2 games at Quakers Hill

Minchinbury vs Asquith 2pm
Quakers Hill vs Glenmore Park at 3.30
Why are so many games forfeited - in other words why did these teams enter then forfeit? That must be killing the concept.

Maybe the teams are dropping out after they read the rules that apparently say that everyone who has ever played a decent level is banned from playing. It appears that the NSWRL set up all their competitions to encourage mediocrity. A couple of the Penrith teams in the Challenge Cup regularly lost games by 60 points last year.

Judging by the teams who won by forfeit, they would probably be the stronger sides in the knockout comp. The opponents probably didn't see a point in being touched up by a dozen tries just for a pre-season comp.

Asquith won their game 72-10 and the games are only 4 x 15 mins.

Cabra arranged to visit Erina this weekend so they have now forfeited to Quakers Hill.

Did the A grade 9's tournament get a run this year? I remember when that young fella from Canley Vale died during the competition at their ground in 2006. Tragic indeed.

Mounties were beaten by Quakers Hill last night 14-6.
Mounties led 6-2 until 5 minutes from full time when Quakers scored, they then scored again with only seconds to go after Mounties spilled the ball in an attempt to score the winning try.

The game was of great quality with both teams smashing each other for the full 60 minutes and neither gave in.
A great concept by the NSWRL and hope it expands into a wider competition and more teams get involved as it shows off the quality that this level of football can produce given the right stimulus.

Well done to Quakers who progress to the final and a shot at the title.
Commiserations to the boys from Mounties but they never gave up and played well.

According to the Quakers Hill website they will play Wentworthville in the Grand Final with dates and venue to be advised.

Wenty won 20-18. Veteran, Damien Amburlah Ramat hit the post with a conversion attempt that would have taken the game into golden point.

So even if you field both a BRC team and an A Grade team you can't just put the A Grade team in? Sucks.

I can see those St Marys f**kwits entering this. Hope anyone but them wins.
