Michael Vella was there? Legend?

Are you being serious? He played over 150 games for Parra about 10 games for NSW and about 10 games for Australia. What else do you need to qualify as an Eels Legend? Alright he didn't win a Grand Final, but did play one.

They all played in at least one GF, surely that is an achievement?

Like I said, they achieved more on the football field than anyone here so you don't have to think they were the best players you've ever seen but you can at least respect them.

Also, doesn't Burt hold the try scoring record for our club?

Not only that but a the time of his retirement, Burt’s tally of 1,790 points (124 tries, 645 goals, 5 field goals) placed him eighth on the all-time list of NRL pointscorers.

Junior Kangaroos 1999
NSW Under-17s 1998; Sydney Under-18s 1998
Australian Schoolboys 1998 (from Whitebridge High)
Australian Schoolboys Under-15 merit team 1996

Smashed the SG Ball pointscoring record in 1997; scoring 192 points from 13 games

Made his first grade debut in front of 104,583 at Stadium Australia in 1999

2 NRL Grand Finals

Australian Prime Minister’s XIII 2011

No one stated or promoted that any one of these 'legends' were legends of the game of Rugby League (although Cronin is obviously). They are however legends of the Parramatta Eels.

A group of players from the successful period of the late 70's and early 80's and a group of players from the somewhat successful period of 1999 to 2009.

Some of you guys need to relax and stop hunting for ways to put shit on your club.

Its amazing how many people call themselves Eels fan yet all they want to do is diss the club and its players.

I am not dissing the club or its players. Vella was a decent player but a legend? Surely not! Perhaps it shows how average we have been for the last 15 years for Hindy and Cayless to take the stage with Vella as legends.

Hey thats my opinion. Hate me for it if you like. Anyway, great initiative by the club!

Hey I am on your side, it really shits me that people keep saying that the only reason why he played first grade was because he could kick goals, or that he was just another Ian Herron. I also hate the fact that people knock his performances in big games - his performance in GF games were nothing short of amazing.

As for Nathan Cayless, name me one prop tougher then him, he was the epitome of tough, intimidating, a man to be feared. He put fear in all opposing sides with his bustling hit ups and when you were hit you stayed hit.

was there ever a more menacing frontrow pairing in the history of the NRL then Mick Vella and Nathan Cayless ? I would like to see it....

Yep. I'm a fan and get disappointed at times the way our team goes but I refrain from bagging off at our team like our so called passionate fans

tough as they come, he put fear into opposition sides.

I said he was tough, not a hitman.

John Sattler and Ray Price were tough, but they didn't put fear into the opposition.

Cayless was never a big-hitting prop - I am not sure why this opens him up to ridicule.

He captained his country to a World Cup - how many times did Hayne do the same?
