My sincere congratulations to all the good Dragons fans out there. It's an amazing feeling so enjoy it. You absolutely deserve it for being a far more battle hardened team than us. Sunday nights win was the well deserved reward for 2 years of amazing hard work and determination.

But...i just have to get this off my chest...

Having not seen the last 7-8 miserable minutes and so not knowing what our 2nd (yes, 2nd) penalty was for...

Do you think we will ever again see a team play atleast the first 70 minutes of a match without conceding a single off-side penalty or play-the-ball infringement penalty?

That was a mind-bogglingly good effort by Hayne/Archer, umm i mean the Dragons...

Forget about the 1st try that wasnt...forget about our 3rd try that should have been...

Because the part for me that i just can't get my head around is how a team can go atleast 70 minutes and only concede a head high shot penalty.

Unreal.

The Dragons fully deserve it. They're ruthless in everything they do. But f**k me no-one will ever convince me that the refs dont hate our guts.

Looked like the second penalty was for a push in the back or something it happened down the other end to where we were sitting and I'll be honest I wasn't paying attention.

It isn't the first time we were shafted like this it took an hour until we got our first and only against Canberra and we lost in golden point to the Warriors last year on something ridiculous like a 12-2 penalty count and Stacey Jones being called offside when he made a tackle in GP only for the lollipoper who shall remain nameless to let it go when the penalty would have been within kicking distance.

We are awarded the least and concede the most amount of penalties but the penalties we are awarded are bullsh*t non event penalties when we're either well in front or well behind in the game but quite frankly this has been going on since the FOFF.

I don't care what opposition fans say either I have been to just about every home game in the last 4 or 5 years and most away games in Sydney and we are not as ill disciplined as the refs make us out to be.

I still regard this as the most criminal refereeing performance that i have ever had the displeasure of witnessing.

People use the term "rorted" loosley but never has it been more appropriate than that day. And as you said THAT Stacey Jones incident will live long in my memory.

"You're off Stacey!!" Tackles ball carrier. Nothing happens.

But back onto the GF, like i said the forward pass call which robbed us of a 12-6 or maybe even 14-6 lead was criminal. More criminal than Brett Morris' pass from row 48 next to me; but it was the incessant little decisions that will eat away at me the most.

The push on Perret that was conveniently missed. The Conn "high shot" when Weyman drove his own fat head into the turf. The zero offside penalties and play the ball infringement penalties in no less than 80 minutes of football.

Those refs can die a horrible death as far as im concerned. I f**king hate 'em.

There were bad calls all night.
1 Argee morris was out lead to a try bad call
2 Anastas was a no try evens out i think
3 Soward kicks down field and i think it may have been Perrett knocks on clearly and it gets called good
Theres heaps more to in our fav as well refs have been sh*thouse all year but really at 32/8 the refs really didnt decide this game.
Anyway great year for u guys well done last to 2nd you should be strong next year so good luck...

It was Leilua and the only calls the Dragons got was a knock on against Creagh which was a strip and the Leilua knock on which wasn't. Other than those two nothing went our way and the eventuated in to nothing anyway but the ones that went against us resulted in points.

Having a whinge because the most disciplined & fit team in the comp doesn't give away penalties?

Please. Do the sensible Roosters fans a favour, and move on.
You were lucky to be there because the refs robbed the second best team (Tigers) two weeks before.

Oh... and my sincere congratulations on a successful season.

 2nd best team you say?? we beat not once, not twice, but three times this year.....one word WHATEVER!

Using your logic - does that make Cronulla the runners-up, and Canberra the Premiers?

No because neither of those sides were consistant enough all year......but hey if Canberra beat Tigers than who knows hey??? just like Canberra are your bogey side.......and you are ours.......anything can happen.....thats whats good about our game.

Listen I was only replying to the fact that someone said that the Tigers were the the 2nd best team in the comp, but we managed to beat them 3 times in a season....merely pointing out a fact.

Panthers smashed us earlier in the season but couldn't sustain that effort due to injuries etc.

The refereeing is becoming a serious problem for us. We lost the game against the Warriors on the back of a clear no try and we all know what happened against the Dragons in the GF. We were nearly robbed against the Broncos before we scored a late try and the refs also did their best to win the match for the dogs the 2nd time we played them.

In addition to that I just don’t get the penalty counts against us. Maybe ill discipline is part of it but how does every other team become magically more disciplined when they play us?

How does Daniel Conn get reported for missing Weyman, yet Simon Dwyer and the tigers get no penalty against them for a shoulder to Hargreaves face?

I can only imagine the uproar had the tables been turned on Sunday and the dragons copped some bad decisions and lost.

I think (and this is purely my opinion) that if all refereeing decisions were 100% correct throughout the year, the Dragons would've still finished first.
I also think Wests Tigers would've finished up in the GF, and the Roosters would've bowed out Week 1 of the Semis.
And... if my Aunty had balls, she'd be my uncle.

I agree the dragons were the best team and deserved to win and would probably have won without those bad calls.

As for the roosters/tigers in week 1, the only thing that would of changed would be the roosters winning in regular time from a penalty goal due to a high hit from Dwyer.

wow tommy.. you are rather bitter aren't you..

every team thinks the refs hate them, god you only need to read other club forums after every loss.. it's the refs fault..

but hey, lets play it out..

our 1st try, lets take away that..

26-8.

your 1st try, if we are taking away ref stuff ups, that needs to go as well...

26-4

but.. lets give you back your "3rd try" (and yes, it was forward, i was right in line there).. and hey, i'll even throw in carney's conversion..

26-10.

infact, i'll even gift you two more converted tries based on doubling your penalty count.

26-22

still a loss..

what it comes down to is discipline.. and that was something i have the upmost respect for our boys this year.. we showed it in spades..

they made sure they didn't give away anything silly, whereas there were at least two penalties that you guys gave away for soft 3rd man in prowler tackles that didn't need to be made..

so yes, a great performance by the boys, but it shows what discipline can do...

Why is our first try taken away? Soward knocks the ball out of the hand of Leilua.

We should have been 12/14-0 at half time but to go over an hour between penalties and even then we only received our first through a lazy high shot is bullsh*t the Dragons layed all over us and weren't penalised but we were they stood offside and weren't penalised but we were. In all three games the Dragons were guilty of the same sh*t we were penalised for but it didn't get called.

actually it's leilua's motion that forces the ball...

but hey, you guys could have been up by 14 in the first half.. you still would have lost it.. it wasn't the refs..

That is a silly comment. You don't know how they would react to being down so far in a GF. If we were up by 14 points, the Dragons might have gone into panic mode and lost.

100% of teams that led 14-0 at halftime in an NRL grand final have gone on to lose the game..
