The last four Roosters Grand Finals the team on 6 points at half time has gone onto win. That's where we went wrong.

Roosters 6-Warriors 2 in 2002
Penrith 6 Roosters 0 in 2003
Dogs 6 Roosters 13 in 2004
Dragons 6 Roosters 8 in 2010

See there's the thing. Even in 1975 had tries been worth 4 we'd led 6-0 at half time. But that's just me being silly now.

All Season the Roosters were ill disciplined....just look at NRL Stats and you will noticed it was happening all season.
Smith needs to teach his forwards to be ruthless not cheap shot merchants. The last penalty goal by the Dragons was purely because HARGRAVES is a thug.

1. Morris foot was out...NO TRY to GAZ.....I have watched once, NO DOUBT
2. Joseph Leilua places the ball on Sward’s knee, which constitutes a KNOCK ON ...NO TRY Anasta!....I have watched it 10 times NO DOUBT
3. Soward kicks high ball to Joseph Leilua, who KNOCKS ball forward....BUT NO SCRUM. !....I have watched it 10 times NO DOUBT
4. Dean Young try is BoD....I personal think it should NOT be awarded because it does go forward into Roosters player !....I have watched it 10 times NO DOUBT
5. Perrett hits the ball out of Creagh’s hand...NO PENALTY !....I have watched it 10 times NO DOUBT
6. Aubssion hits the ball out of Creagh’s hand ...NO PENALTY!....I have watched it 10 times NO DOUBT

Had Carney converted the two tries from the sideline that it would have been a different matter? 12-6 stings more than 8-6.

Soward converted both of Nightingales' sideline tries. That's a big difference psychologically. 18-8 with the conversions, 14-8 without.

Even Roosters fan #1, Phil Gould, could not accept the Anasta try as a try. Also, having had a very good look at the forward pass no try at 8-6, Leulia does get back behind Carney but the ball was thrown forward so Leulia had to reach for it. Roosters fan #1, Phil Gould, called that, too, so I'm afraid you'll just have to move on. The Roosters were not good enough but did a great job getting there!

It doesn't really matter anymore. Any of this going to give us a comp? lol
We gotta be there next year, otherwise, what's all this build-up for?
Dragons seemed stronger this year after using disappointment as motivation.
I can see us doing the same. Hopefully.

So basically it was the officials fault we lost.

Bingo.

Behind the scenes im quite certain he still loves the Roosters. But when calling us it seems as though, contrary to what alot of 'tard opposition fans think, he goes out of his way to criticise us at every opportunity.

No doubt in an attempt to be seen as impartial.

For starters im pretty sure he spends half of our games trying to tell everyone that we're getting smashed in the forwards!

Well you were in the GF.

But Gus has always been a bit of a wnker when calling a game.

Every 2nd half once a result is known he'll tell you how he predicted it early in the first half who would win the game.

Not sure if you've noticed but Phil Gould is a massive "fan" of four Sydney teams.

Roosters, Dragons, Dogs, Tigers

That's not so say he doesnt criticise them when they do wrong, but had the Roosters been playing the Warriors or Raiders I'd be more inclined to go "hmmmmm interesting"

But at the end of the day the thread is pointless. Yes we copped some dud calls, but the second the wet stuff fell out of the sky at half time our fate was sealed. We drop balls and ofen. In the wet we're horrible at control. We turned the ball over at our own end and would have done it regardless if we'd gotten a couple more penalties or the Dragons had got a couple less. The Dragons are just too good at retaining possession and it frustrates us.

I will say though that we're not as ill disciplined as the stats make us to be. How we can give so many away and be given so few astounds me, but it wouldnt have changed that result this year.

That seems to happen every time we're getting smashed in the forwards

Look at that Manly game and that Tigers game for a start. We didnt have the ball for the first 40 in either game.
