Some familiar faces returned to the Newcastle Knights pre-season campaign which gathered today for the first time since their christmas break.
Danny Wicks was back after a mystery illness floored him last month while Kurt Gidley fronted for his first day at work since an injury ruined world cup campaign.

Winger James McManus will miss Newcastle’s opening senior squad trial match on Saturday night, after a minor setback with a groin problem.
The Knights will still field most of their senior squad in a game that features three Newcastle club sides - Maitland, Souths and host club Central Charlestown.
