Joking aside though, I think the fact that Aaron is
"Gay" seems to be the main focus of attention here and also in the media rather than the fact that Aaron is a
"male cheerleader in a profession exclusively dominated by women and is currently the only male cheerleader in the N.R.L."
It's interesting how Homosexuality plays an enourmous role in media issues and seems to attract more attention than than the main point of a story/event, which I believe to be the fact that
"Penrith has a male cheerleader"
Hypothetically, If Aaron was straight, aside from being
an extremely lucky guy would he be getting as much attention or press as he is now?
Somehow I doubt it.
If Aaron is here because of his genuine love of dance, his support for Penrith as a club and the thrill and exciterment of performing in front of a big crowd - (as are most of the girls reasons for being cheerleaders) - then I welcome him to the club and wish him all the best and many years of much success in cheerleading.
If, however he's here with a politically motivated gay-rights agenda and he's using the club as a soap box, then perhaps becoming a male cheerleader here at Penrith is not the most prudent method of expressing himself.
