I think Roy is seriously close to entering test cricket oblivion. I know someone high up loves him for no good reason, but you can only carry passengers for so long when your not doing that well.

In fairness to symonds , his test career hasnt been that terrible. And it was only 5 test matches ago when he was doing well in the West Indies.

He averages over 40 with the bat and 37 with the ball. Thats pretty respectable stuff. Inlcuding his fielding he's a pretty decent test cricketer.

The thing is though , if he's not going to bowl becuase of injury there are better options for a number 6.

MacDonald is actually going pretty well in OD cricket. Picks up wickets and scores a few runs.

Lol why are people saying 120km/h bowling means Mcdonald is in trouble?

Shaun Pollock barely bowled a ball over 130km/h... and look at this career.

What a great example you picked. Pollock had an almost immaculate line and length, which somehow i dont think this rednut can match.

Pollock also could seam the ball both ways and had a good bouncer. Plus almost as good a line and length bowler as McGrath.

sh*thead gets out for 15 in a poor performance. Nice pick selectors.

Lol you know SFA about cricket...

So you get a poor score in your first innings and its a terrible selection? Remember what Mike Hussey got on debut please.

Then look back at a few others- what were Shane Warne's first figures in a test?

Hussey and Warne were both poor selections too...

Hardly a surprise, I said before the match we should have played an extra seamer FFS!

He is average, and a typical Victorian really. Shaun Young MkII and that is being nice, and average bat and an average "bowler"

His helmet literally being hit off his head was the highlight other then the elegant clip off the legs for his only boundary
He deserves a shot might surprise with the ball
