Anyone can make it big over there. Even Mark Van Gisburgen managed to play a test for England and he couldn't even crack the Waikato NPC side when he was over in NZ.

masoe, braid, latimere, thompson i think are the candidates braid is injured and thompson is a '6 and a half' and what we really need is a sepcialist 7, masoe has been fu**ed over in s14 playing 6,7,8 sometimes and not getting consistant game time at 7, while latimere is definately a player of the future and has played consistantely at 7 thru out the s14, i dont think he's near experienced enough at this top level and personally if mccaw wasn't injured would pick him for end of year tour then see how he goes, thats why i think the selectors are waiting till this weekend's NZ Maori game is played to see how latimere goes, if he plays well i think they will select him, but if not he'd come into the squad along with masoe but doubt he'd play, Masoe would definately be the more safe and logical bet, but latimere is a gamble and if it pays off, it will be awesome, if Masoe isn't picked theres a good chance he could be off to europe/japan which would be a shame, hes a good player.

He will get picked (Masoe). He has experience over all the other candidates although I would have gone with Braid if fit.

Latimer's ok but not up to test standard imo and yeah I wouldn't have Masoe but he's probably the only option atm.

To me, he lacks the work-rate for openside flanker. Would be better suited to blindside or no.8 but NZ have enough in those positions.
