We really do miss having a ball paying lock like Young. Have a look at the difference havilli made when he was playing look in the cs. ATM he is not a patch on young, but even so, our sputtering attack seemed to flow better with havilli at lock, even if it was for only the last quarter of the game.
Problem is these days, lock plays more like an extra prop. Burgess, Taumalolo, Gallen, etc.
It's rare a lock is used as a ball player anymore. Glenn Stewart tried to play that role at Souths but it didn't really work out as they were used to the bash and barge mentality.
If a team needs extra ballplayers, that's what FB's and hookers are for. Hence we have stuggled so much in attack by having Rein and Dugan in those roles.
