And rightfully so.

Yes , on top of Packer & Garvey ( and they hit blokes ) the club will not be seen to rehabilitate another if convicted. The sponsers alone will have their say. Then again if we had a 3rd party to pay the poor women to drop charges , but we arn't like other clubs are we ?.

Let wait for the court case before we hang, draw and quarter him.
He is a rising star. Played well in the u/20 Test last October.

Nothing worse than axing a player and they go on to become a star at another club.

Until the NRL determines a proper protocol on this type of behaviour I definitely would not be letting him go.
Been honourable like The Raiders is dumb if some other club reaps the rewards. Ie Dugan and now Ferguson at the Roosters.

We don't even know exactly what AFB did. I'm prepared to cut him slack until the case is heard.

Very good point. The problem now is when does the nrl put its foot down? Every player would have a legal right to say "well so and so did this and he is still playing".
Maybe its time the NRL drew a line in the sand and say "From this point forward, violent incidents will be dealt with in this manner". Fair warning to all id say.

The bloke deserves to have his court date to determine his guilt (or otherwise). If he is found guilty of hitting a women he will and should be sacked. If some other club signs him ; fair enough. But if you were a sponsor would you want your brand associated with a club that condones this behaviour? Really? He is 110 kg's. Dreadful behaviour if it is true.

Divine is spot on. That complete grub Greg Bird should have been banned for life. He glassed a women. How bad is that? He should have received a custodial sentence.

Every time I see Bird play I feel uncomfortable. I am a NSW supporter living in Queensland and I still feel uncomfortable watching in play for NSW.

Once again the NRL executive is inept. Here's a thought Dave Smith. Issue an edict this morning saying that all player contracts registered from today will contain a clause that states that any player found guilty of assaulting a women is banned for life. Not difficult Smith!

Lol. You might need to get some facts right before posting. Sharks sacked Bird and was de-registered by the NRL when he was charged. He went over to Catalans because he could only get a visa in France after one was denied by the UK. He was found guilty and sentenced to go to jail but was bailed pending an appeal. On that appeal he was found not guilty. It was only after he was found not guilty that he was allowed to return to the NRL

Barbrady finds facts amusing. What a surprise

No, I find the fact that you think Bird was innocent the amusing part and you strike me as being as much of a stand up guy as Bird. I suppose you think glasses merely 'float' across a room and his mate wouldn't take the blame was all made up also?
But that was all make believe too, wasn't it fool?

You'd think the resident forum cop Mr Barbrady would know a thing or two about libel. Guess you're dumber than we thought.

Grouch is right. Conviction was quashed.

Now a Shark supporter point if view.

He did it, he is a grub, he should have done the NRL a favor and stayed overseas.

So, jubilee is correct also.

Now for something very important.

Jubilee, how are you and the family coping up there in this weather?

Hey Millers...all good so far. We're watching where the tropical low is heading and waiting for round 2 of the rain and winds which will arrive overnight and into tomorrow morning. 165mm here overnight and the ground is saturated. Trees going over is my biggest concern but we should be ok mate. Cheers champ
