poor old Richmond

Well, they managed to restore some pride in their jumper, which was ultimately what last night had to be about.

They can live with the loss, particularly as honorable as it was, but the loss of Thursfield for the season (especially) and Schulz over the next month or so, were huge blows.

Poor Thursfield was the latest player to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Its extraordinary that some players seem to just cruise through seasons, while others take it up the clacker.

Its a tough game.

LOL

We lost by 11 points to supposedly the best team going around.

I was proud of my Tigers last night, and if Thirsty hadn't been the latest Richmond player to have his season cruelled on that stupid ground, we probably would have won. He was imho beating Saint Nick.

Telstra dome is.... uhh... evil, there has to be some curse against us.

Broken legs... Knee's bending the wrong way.. Head clashes... playing our home game at our oppositions home ground... not being able to have a kick on the ground after the game.. etc..

Apart from that, well done tiges! but thats only from a fans point-of-view, hopefully the players aren't thinking that.
We cant be happy with 'good' loss. There isn't such a thing.
If you Lose by 100 points or by 1 point, you still dont get the 'W' and 4 points that come with it and thats what counts at the end of the year.

Lets prove everyone wrong next week and come out and give it to the eagles.

Oh and last nights game showed how average St Kilda really is.

Your right meltiger, Thirstfield was killing Riewoldt before he did his knee.

Mel you might know, whats the go with Knobel and Hall??

They're struggling and flat, to be sure, but they can still afford to be at this time of the year.

Penny, Guerra & Jones were not centrifugal to the side, but they were all experienced regulars and are being missed.

Clarke & Harvey have both had interrupted preseason, and given the nature of the side, the former will need to lift markedly.

Ball & Kozitschke (the latter, in particular) would be badly missed by any side, and fitness queries remain over Hammil.

They'll improve as the year progresses, but the biggest worries they have are lack of legspeed out wide and a woefully poor ruck division.

Knobel, not 100% sure what his injury is, Razor has had a minor back injury though.

I expect Razor and Cleve Hughes to be named next week.

Yeah agree with most of that, the Saints are a hell of alot better team with Kozitschke in, thats for sure.. i still dont understand why they didn't hold onto Guerra they are missing someone like him in the team IMO.

They and the Dogs have to be the best teams at getting the ball down the other end from a kick-in.

They had to get rid of a certain number of players, and in the end it came down to a choice between Guerra & Milne. At that point, they wouldn't have known that Jones was going to give it away, I think (and Penny), so it is possible he would have stayed.

That said, he did get lost in their forward structure at times, and Thomas never showed a lot of inclination toward playing him in defence. To me it seems his best position, particularly as his strong kicking skills make him extra handy for kick-ins.

5-0 heading into tomorrows games.

Likewise...

With Sydney certainties to get up today and Adelaide highly likely to salute; only Collingwood can deprive me of the long overdue round of 8 I so richly deserve.

If it came down to those two... then wtf is Milne still doing in St.Kilda?

I guess they do need a small forward and not so much a tough midfielder... but even so..
Milne or Guerra, who would you rather at Hawthorn Kev?
