It is time for you guiys to realise that while you are sitting on your roofs drinking island coolers; the AFL has walked into Sydney and stolen the momentum and the NRL will never ever get it back.

You guys are kind of soft in the head. Why don't you stand up for yourselves?

AFL is killing the NRL all around Australia.

No one where I live likes it. I live in one of the biggest cities in the country.

You need to get out more. AFL is No 1 by some way with new migrants.

And the apathetic rugby league crowd don't rejoice in their game as much as AFL supporters.

AFL is a religion - NRL is like something you watch when nothing else is on.

Have you watched NRL, do you see what happens when they drop the ball, no one has any idea, so yeah, NRL is fumbleball too.

But it is your "head in the sand" attitude that is killing the NRL in Sydney and it makes me want to spew.

I love NRL. I live in Melbourne. I watch it all the time.

I am an NRL fan. A Melbourne Storm fan. And one thing we have learnt to do in the great city of Melbourne is to like both NRL and AFL. It is one of the many reasons why Melbourne is a better city than Sydney

In Sydney people sit on their roof and drink island coolers; in Melbourne people get out and about and go to sporting events and talk to each other with some intellect.

But as far as NRL in Sydney is concerned, it is the Sydney siders who are chosing not to go to games or watch it.

The new migrants are loving their AFL.

This is not my thoughts; it is fact.

It is up to you Sydney roof sitting island cooler drinkers to change that.

You guys are hugely defensive to open mindedness. And the possibility that people outside the heartland could love the game of rugby league. well I can tell you, there is a whole tribe of us down here in Melbourne who do love rugby league.

We have been blessed to have 10 years of the greatest and best rugby possible but we have been spoilt by the mighty Melbourne Storm.

Still we love the game with a passion.

Sydney is the HQ of League, Union and Soccer in this country and yes parts of Sydney have embraced Aussie Rules as well. Melbourne is the HQ of one code - AFL and the media down there are very suspicious of other codes and protective of its local one. Sydney is a global city and as such needs to show it supports all sports. Melbourne is mono-cultural and hosts a few big events a year for locals to get drunk at, even though 95% of people in Melbourne couldn't give a crap about Tennis or Formula 1.

That is the problem, you guys think you own the intellectual property but...

the game is open to everybody.

Even people from new cities.

And until you embrace me; you wont grow your code.

That has to be the objective here.

To make it an all Australian encapsulated game.

But you said the AFL has all the momentum and we are soft in the head.

Then describe yourself as a "Rugby" tragic

Why do you Victorians have this massive obsession with Sydney? I've been to Sydney many times (one of my favourite places in the world), I know people there and never once have I ever heard any mention of Melbourne from anyone there or in any media there. Dead set no one cares or even thinks about Melbourne and Queensland despite what people in those respective places like to believe.

That is the attitude that will unfortunately not see our great game grow.

You have to care about the rest of Australia because the AFL do and they are coming.

I am not a rugby league tragic, I have only been watching it for 15 years but I like it at lot and I want to help save it from the AFL monopoly.

Plus I think we can all just live together anyway.

And I wish people on this site had that attitude.
