See, this one bugs me far more than Rueben Garrick (who I could understand letting go). I mean, if we’d offered him a contract to work as depth and continue to develop and he chose to leave, I’d probably understand - Lomax was ahead of him by the end of last year. But that’s not the case.

Herbert had a killer junior resume. Been in our system for years. NYC captain. Junior kiwis captain. NSW Cup team of the year. And now he goes on to debut elsewhere and has a blinder up against an Aus rep centre.

Meanwhile, we scour NSW Cup to find the winger with the lowest footy IQ and keep him in first grade at all costs!

How are we so bad at identifying which players will best make the transition to first grade?
I don't know if we are bad at choosing which players will make the transition, its we don't give them a chance, its frustrating that supporters can see potential in players but the coach doesnt, no wonder they go off to other clubs, there is nothing more for them to prove in reserve grade at the Dragons...

I guess what bugs me about Herbert is that he didn’t leave for an opportunity. He was told he has no future here. Same with Sele and Garrick, both of whom were playing first grade Round 1 this year.

Herbert’s ability was pretty obvious by watching NSW Cup last year. Even if he wasn’t flagged for immediate first grade, he was a depth/project player worth holding on to. And we told him we didn’t need him, while importing guys like Ravalawa and Maranta!

Anyway, he made the most of his shot and I hope this is the start of a good first grade career for him.

Yeah thats the unfortunate part, oddly enough they said he's defence was suspect , but i do remember when he joined us after a year or so they actually thought he could actually become the Captain of the NRL side thats how much he impressed them...

Perhaps, as previously suspected, favouritism is the deciding factor and playing ability and/or potential comes second within this football department...

What do you make of reports Alex Ferguson is interested in a potential move to a Rugby League pathways director position?
I'd rather have Gus Gould instead; he'd come a lot cheaper and know more about our game.

Now in attack a half break with a bloke around his leg and cant find a pass .. Aitken is trash.
Did you really tape the game then give a blow by blow rundown of all Aitken's errors even though we had all already seen the game?
What was your motive for that?
Extremely unusual and obsessive behaviors.

Crush, I'd say that RufusRex was being very gentle in helping you to take off those blinkers.

Thanks Possm.
Hey I'd love to see your 1-13 mate.
What is it this week?
Field your fullback?
Makes no real difference does it. Mary has his own queer way with selections and bench management. It is a shame we have to lose games when this can be avoided.

Look fellas, I’m really sorry to bang on about this, but there’s a protection racket going on with our #3.

That’s the root cause of our backline issues & loss of personnel

The loss of backs would’ve become a flood, only for the loyalty & desire to play for our great club of Zac, Matt & Jai.

They should’ve normally been gone too after the trash treatment & insults handed to them by Waterboy.
Matt would’ve probably been gone only for Gareth’s injury

So, given the above, it is not too much of a stretch to imply that the loss of let’s see, Field, Dufty, Lomax, Herbert, Garrick, Milne & Bird would’ve sat quite well with the loveblind Waterboy - whose selection focus is on Turnstile, absolutely, over all of the above.

Waterboy took over in May 2014, & Bird signed with the Peptides in Sept - after being given no opportunities despite wanting to be a Dragon.

My bitch is so few chances genuinely offered - in what is supposed to be a pathway for juniors

And it has this perhaps not-so-weird 5yr focus mainly in the centres

Oh jeez I forgot Kurt Mann - who came to us as a centre
(It’s the missus on my back again)

Detect a pattern?

And a culprit with a single focus?

So OK, over to the bush lawyers

Go for it

PS sorry to see u go too Reece - you’re a 9 who COULD put runners through a hole
Shame
I’d love to know what Mal’s thinkin’
