The same thing happened last year when we signed Vaughan and McInnes
Everyone bagged them and the club saying they were shit
Before that it was Mann and lafai
Look how these 4 have worked out
They are consistently among our best players every week
Stop the whinging and just roll with it Alex Johnston will be a good signing for us if we get him
He is just playing in a very ordinary team at present
And we can't just blood a heap of juniors at once or we will be back to 2016 and complaining about the coach and the players again
Happy to see a couple of juniors make the 1st grade squad and a junior off the bench but you have to have the right balance of experience and youth

I read somewhere a article about clubs bringing their juniors to first grade. I think that coaches would not bring more then two junior through on one season.
That kinda makes sence, but we need to give our guys some exposure to see who can step up.
Don't play it safe and wait till the new season and drop them in first grade.

Who is this Johnson? Is he better than Johnston? Or is he similar to the Johnstone that keeps getting a mention?
Thought they meant John Jansen - now there was quality, I'll never forget him chasing a back downat Shark park, ran accross the length of the field to get him. He could run for a big boy.

LOL@ comparing this to Vaughan/McInnes.

Vaughan has long been considered amongst the top props in the comp and fell in reserve grade after a stink with the coach. People questioned the dollars, but only idiots said he wasnt a decent signing.

McInnes is a former junior kangaroos captain who had fallen out of favour at Souths because they tried to turn him into an Isaac Luke clone.

Both brought over to play the position they specialise in, both brought over to cover glaring weaknesses in our side.

Johnson is a glorified winger who had 1 good season (debut season) 3 years ago on the back of Reynolds' kicking game and Greg Inglis, who we are allegedly buying to play fullback, a position he has struggle so far to play in first grade. His defence is very poor, he has no notable ball skills and the position he is filling (makeshift fullback and outside back utility) could easily be covered by any number of youngsters ready to burst into the team.

I'm very much a fan of blooding juniors properly, when they are ready, but this signing is just dumb.

I just think this is a recruitment stuff up with Millward and Dugan both confirming they are boof heads
In any case I think we should at least give Dufty the opportunity to perform on the big stage next year.
Of all the options being bandied around for fullback, we should be looking for a specialist fullback.
Not a utility and not someone that has to learn the position.
If that is the case it narrows down the candidates.
Dufty is the obvious one.

Johnston can definitely play but it will all come down to dollars......it would be exciting to have one of the quickest players in the league and I believe he still has a lot of good footy in him. Just needs the motivation and perhaps a fresh start.......
