I've only just been sent this link. I'm not going through past posts on here if most have probably seen it by now, if not here it is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?sns=fb&v=GC1CCzBJDnE&app=desktop

That video is (I'm going to assume intentionally) deceptive. It starts fast-forwarding just after Mason is warned (I wonder why they included that when it was supposed to be about Smith  ), but Smith continued to argue after that.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGze5cnZsfc

The full, unedited footage shows Smith continue arguing (starts at about 1 min 20) even after being told by Sutton "I'll just wait for the injured bloke, then I'll talk to you". The grub needed to be told twice that the injured player was more important than his sooking.

It also shows he was within 5 metres of McKinnon when he was on the ground screaming that he couldn't breathe, so these excuses that he didn't know the injury was serious are complete bullshit.

Oops. There was 20 more seconds i should have added (from mason turning away to Smith backing away - 1:20 - 1:41), you are right. Could only hear Mason talking shit, coz it was 4am when i was editing the footage so i couldn't turn it up loud enough to hear. Nothing sinister intended.

So will this anger and reaction to "watching the footage back for the first time since the accident" be in the book?? I find it hard to believe that it could be, given the fact that the book is currently being printed and will be released later this month.

Thanks for posting the link. Altho I don't agree with your statement, there's no point arguing over what was said at the time.

What piece of shit thinks that video supports Smith?

It shows precisely why he is a shit merkin.

He had ages to wake the f**k up to himself given what was going on and still carried on like he did. Did you see the knight captain going up to the ref to whinge after the first penalty against his side?

The other thing is, why the f**k the ref even let him say a single f**king word is beyond ridiculous.

This massive effort by storm merkins to defend this germ has changed my view on that news ltd scum club. They can f**k off. Salary cap cheating, on-field cheating merkins who suck cash out of the game while destroying the product with wrestling and bringing the sport into disrepute. Can't expect much more from a club that was Murdoch and Ribot's bowel baby.

Lucky nobody gives a f**k what you think.

The fact you can get so sooky about something that has nothing to do with you, paints concerning picture of your mental health.

To claim it was anything deliberately sinister just shows how willing you goes to be influenced by a trash TV show.

Added your link with an addendum to the videos description. Nothing i can do to the footage itself, but it is in the description. All caps, naturally.

Good work admitting the mistake and trying to rectify it.

If only Smith had done that in the first place we wouldn't be having this discussion ;-)

Go for it i'd say. Smith has done absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever and if he feels he needs to tell his side of the story I would love to see him stick it to channel 9.

That said, I can't see it ever happening. Smith doesn't seem the type to draw attention or make this situation about himself.

You telling us you've been dropped on your head a few times doesn't exactly strengthen your argument.

I said the end of spear tackles and I know how people respond in such circumstances.

Yes, I actually have experience in playing league unlike some the keyboard warrior here, who only have experienced it on X-box or Playstation.

this whole thing is ridiculous, surely McKinnon is just trying to sponge every last dime out of the media

it happened last season ffs, surely the funds are a bit dry to come out about it now

"But I would ask every single one of them one simple question, including Melbourne Storm captain Cameron Smith, who (given his comments on the field at the time) was obviously of the view that me losing all feeling in my arms and legs is my fault because I had ducked my head."

"The outpouring of blame by people who I once had great respect for was nothing short of disgusting. It made my family sick to the stomach."

He just doesn't get it. Seems like a nice kid, great support network and I hope he's walking in the near future because no one should spend their life confined to a wheel chair but he's just not the brightest.

Smith defending Mclean for an extremely unfortunate incident doesn't by definition place the blame on Mckinnon.

Mckinnon hasn't come out of all this looking too great. Personally lost a lot of respect for him.

How doesn't smith saying "if he doesn't suck his head, that doesn't happen" NOT blame McKinnon exactly? It's doing exactly that as far as I can see.

The injury was caused by the tacklers. They lifted him, put him in a bad position, and continued driving the tackle into the ground. Every part of the tackle that they could control was done dangerously and illegally. McKinnon not taking good enough evasive action to prevent their f**k up from severely injuring him does not elevate any guilt from their actions in any way.
