where do you get that?

he's simply lashing out at smith for accusing him of permanently disabling himself, i would hopefully be right in saying that is a natural reaction for anybody in alex's shoes.

alex is saying he's stewed on it because till now smith still hasn't reached out to him to soften that accusation

anybody bregrudging alex for his right to feel this way is as big a scumbag as scam smith
Smith wasn't really wrong though. Admittedly he didn't handle it well but neither has Alex blaming him.

Cam Smith is an absolute gentlemen.

Justin Poore got less heat then this when he picked up and dropped Price.

Probably because Poore manned up and apologised

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league/2669166/Steve-Price-gets-apologies-from-NSW-players

People are generally willing to forgive others when that person realises they are in the wrong and genuinely apologise for their actions. Smith has never done that though, he blamed McKinnon's actions in tucking his head in for his injuries instead of his player lifting his legs and then driving him into the ground as the cause. McKinnon has stopped being angry at McLean because he accepts it was an accident and McLean has apologised for his actions. He is still pissed at Smith because he has never retracted or apologised for what he said

Apparently C9 are offering SMith a right of reply on next week's 60'.

No f**king surprise C9 have turned this whole thing into a blatant and extended ratings grab. What a bunch of f**king low lives running that network.

Good on Smith for boycotting the merkins. The sooner the broadcast agreement expires and the NRL look elsewhere for FTA broadcast partners, the better. The time is ripe now with Fox getting into bed with C10.

C9 have always been the first to get stuck into players and scandals on their news bulletins, current affairs tabloid show, and now their supposed journalistic flagship and most respected news brand. One of their highest paid commentators in Gould holds a weekly friday night advertisement to not watch the game, and the association with the network in general has left the game in bogan town. f**k them off.

In contrast, the AFL's association with C7 has been one of the strengths for their sport.

Oh, and Up the Blues tomorrow night!

So you have no basis of your attack in McKinnon then, you've only been asked 3 times now to be precise.

Again it's not how smith reacted post incident that rubs mckinnon the wrong way, it's the fact smith has now had ample opportunity to rethink how he handled the situation and acknowledge if not apologise for which he has not and needs to be called out by a bloke who's justifying his innocence in paralysing himself to do it.

Smiths entitled to his opinion, myself I think he ducked his head attempting to win a penalty; not a popular opinion either but I'm not retracting it because it upsets someone.

Smith and the Storm made efforts over the weeks and months after the incident to contact mcKinnon ... but were continually declined. I don't blame them from giving up

You are wrong, the fear instinct has you flexing away from danger not ducking into it.

The analogy to your statement would be the "flight" instinct when in fear would have you run towards the danger.

He said last night he was disorientated in the tackle that is why he ducked his chin into his chest, worse mistake with such a tackle.

Absolutely incorrect. Fight or flight is an adrenal response that has nothing to do with this situation. This situation the natural reaction is to duck your head into you chest, which takes your neck AWAY from the focal point of the force. Try this, just sitting on the couch or wherever. Level your chin out so your head is relatively steady, relax your neck, and push down gently on the top of your head. Which way does your neck bend? It goes forward, chin into your chest. That's the natural way your neck bends under pressure, that's the natural flex. Simple as that. To state that the natural reaction is to bend your neck in an unnatural manner that places it at the greatest risk is simply misinformed.

2 things Smith is an absolute grub on the field (maybe its Bellamy's orders maybe not), but the more I hear from people that actually have dealing with him off the field I am tending to agree with your comment.

Poore's actions were not great at all and a couple of people blew up about it, the rest were probably upset that Poore didn't put the put into the filth.

I thought 60mins were meant to have some of the better 'journalists'.

Since when, they have a reputation for sensationalism and manufacturing locations and stories.

Absolutely.

Also misinformed to think extending your neck would stop it from being broken. Weight and momentum did the damage. The tackle was illegal and this injury illustrates why in a very unequivocal way.

The Maroons captain is reportedly so angry that he will refuse all interview requests from Nine before, during or after Wednesday night's State of Origin decider.

Suck shit channel 9 you bunch of muppets.

If thats true it'll do more damage to Smith than it will to Nine. He just keeps digging a bigger hole for himself. Look at Darius Boyd a couple of years ago. This is worse than that.
Why can't Smith just admit he was wrong.

I seriously doubt it, if anything it's completely understandable.

If Smith isn't going to talk to Nein, how will he whinge about the refs?

Amazing player, has all the humanity of an amoral defence lawyer. Win at all costs. Calling him a grub isn't fair to insect larvae.

Now thats shooting the messenger.

"Don't broadcast negative opinions of me or I won't talk to you".

Seems in-keeping with his attitude. He won't think he's done anything wrong, shouldnt apologise and has no responsibility to the games broadcaster even on one of its big events. It's all about him.

Smith has every right to deny interviews to channel 9, just like we have every right to hate him.

How is Cam acting like he did, in any way a suprise to anyone?

In my opinion, he is the most single-minded player in the approach he takes to winning.
Ethics, morality, even legality come second in Cam's mind, when compared to winning.
This situation with McKinnon was no different.

It's the hallmark of a lot of people who have achieved a lot particularly in sport, look at Vettel and Whincup for instance, all great merkins who leave empathy at the door and only give a shit about maximising their own personal gains.
