Men of league foundation have offered mckinnon a lifetime contract

and NRL considering a ban on lifting in tackle but has already ruled out a ban of 3 man tackles.

there were two tackles on the weekend i saw worse than mcleans, neither were penalised.

Which ones? Admittedly I didnt see all the games over the weekend but the one I saw from Beau Falloon was certainly penalised

Same story says Bennett has confirmed the photo genuine.

Very promising.

He did post that photo last night on Instagram and announce his engagement, but I think that particular photo of them together that he posted was an old one.

Well that's crazy if true, I'd just assumed it was an old photo too, thought there was no way he'd be standing yet and with no neck brace etc?

That's an old photo. His neck wouldn't be strong enough to be without a neckbrace after his surgery

that photo is not from a hospital room.

quite clearly it is old as if he was able to stand upright you'd think this would be leading story for the NRL at the moment...

It would be awesome if he can post to instagram.

Regardless of physical progress, the positive frame of mind and humility regarding the support he has received is impressive.

Tough kid alright.

Players need to be charged (50 points) for having hands between other players legs lifting above the horizontal not just penalties. The system already caters for dangerous throws. The coaches will teach their players a better technique if they start getting players suspended after multiple offences.

As I posted before, the NRL have shot theirself in the f**kin foot. Apparently, the lifting tackle from the weekend on Sam Burgess was a grade 1.

If someone can post a photo of it (IT skills lacking), you will be shaking your head.

All Mckinnon's lawyer would need to do is show examples of lifting that went unpunished both before and already since his incident and he could hit the NRL for millions.

I simply can't fathom how within days of a broken neck they allow even worse examples of lifting.

They take a hard line zero tolerance approach on shoulder charges. On punching. But not this? Someone has dropped the ball.
