Alex Smith traded

Yeah it's clear they just wanted to boot Cousins and free up cash a bit.
You're not getting any better with Smith, considering Cousins has taken that team to the playoffs once or twice too.

Oh well, I'm thinking Cousins goes to Denver.

I'd love t have Cousins in Denver. Watch his game against the Seahawks last year. He was awesome.

I think he goes to the Broncos, we trade or cut Talib, sign Barkly if he is available (we have the fifth pick) or take a RT, restructure Thomas and free up some more $$$ then draft a CB or WR in the second round, given we have such a high pick.

Cleveland have the $$$, but it will come down whether or not Cousins wants to win during his career.

I think Cleveland would be silly to not go after Cousins. They have so many needs in that team, and having an established QB would see them become competitive as they add extra pieces around (and who knows they could grab even more picks by trading down).

There would be a lot to like for anyone joining the team. It's just trying to bring it together. And given how bad there QB choices have been, grabbing an established one is the right move.

I think the Jets and Browns are going to throw a lot at him, but i think the Broncos are the best place team to get him. Really good D, even if they lose one of the corners, solid weapons. even accounting for cutting Thomas/Sanders... the line is improving, they've got a high pick and Elway knows what he's doing

that's the best spot for him, if im him, id rather take 25mil a year to play for Denver, than 30 and play for the Browns

The Jets are a little interesting in that i think they have a few good building blocks, but you can win now at Denver, you've gotta build for another 2-3 years with the jets and wait for Brady to retire.

Cousins wouldn't have the strongest opposing QB's in the West. Rivers is getting on, Mahomes is still raw and Carr is wildly inconsistent.

Also the Chargers commitment to always Charging is incredible. Id take my chances in the AFC W

Gruden could be a disaster, you're right about Rivers only having 2-3 more productive years left in him, MAX, and Mahomes could be anything, good or bad.

The Broncos are the ideal spot for him imo

I'm of the opposite opinion. He's a solid player, but for the money, it'll cripple our cap. We'd end up needing to probably trade both Sanders and DT, as well as get rid of Talib and potentially Anderson. I can't see how him coming to Denver would make them a better team, it creates a lot of problems moving forward with a contract that size + Von.

I don't think we are a strong playoff contender with Cousins, I'm a fan of drafting and minor rebuilding. Most of our defensive superstars like Miller, CHJ, Wolfe are around 27-28. We can afford to take 2 years for a high draft QB to start hitting their stride. I'd rather draft a QB at 5, target someone like Bradford, Keenum, Foles or Taylor on a short term value contract and try to get some established offensive linemen.

If we were to draft Barkley, I think we could trade down to around 12 and still get him. I think he'll slip a fair way given the stacked QB charts and how many teams are vying for them.

Reports coming out now that Cousins first choice would be the Vikings who have cap space and all 3 QB's currently unsigned.

Give me Keenum (if you can get him for less than $20 on a short deal) and draft a QB at #5 please.

Vikes have a lot of guys hitting FA this year, if they sign Cousins it'd be interesting to see how they manage working him in without losing a lot of talent.

That's probably a good match.
Cousins is better than all on the roster.
Think possibly Brown's take Bradford.
Bridgewater stays and is back up.
Keenum...I dunno really, he's not their guy though...hes like Fitzpatrick or Hoyer.

Keenum was rumoured for the Cards not long ago.

I doubt many moves get made until Cousins decides unless a team that believes they have no chance in Cousins tries to slip under teams guards.

I read yesterday the Skins may consider tagging Cousins to get value for him in a trade.

I'd be surprised if Cousins lands anywhere besides Denver.

Foles has now become a much bigger player in the QB market after yesterday and I doubt a Superbowl MVP will be happy to ride the pine when Wentz returns.

Foles isn't a FA. Philly would try and get as much capital from a trade as possible, I'm not sure how many teams would be interested in throwing the kitchen sink in that situation. Had a great playoff run, but his overall body of work isn't as enticing as Cousins.

It's unlikely the redskins will tag Cousins, it would be in violation of the CBA which states tagging must be done in good faith with intent to retain the player. They'd have a fight on their hands with the union for sure. With that said, the Redskins do have a track record of doing stupid shit.

I'm sure the Eagles would be open to trading Foles if the price was right. Jets might be the team that comes calling and they could build around Foles.

I'm sure they would be open to trading him. Whether they're willing to trade for terms that are significantly less than Cousins is the question. I can't see too many teams going after Foles unless there is very little in way of trade capital. He's a damn good insurance plan for the Eagles, especially when who knows how a player recovers from an ACL injury, I can't see them letting him go lightly.
