I though TL had a B+ to a- game. Looked solid and made alot of play out there.

Swap Ali for Kidwell
Louie forSm Halatau. Louie I thought had a good game.
Mannering for Vagana.
Sammy for Rubes.

1. Perret
2. SKD
3. Mannering
4. Whatuira
5. Tupou
6. Roberts
7. Leuluai
8. Asotasi
9. Faiumu
10. Rapira
11. Ali
12. Pritchard
13. Louie

14. Moimoi
15. Lauaki
15. Eastwood
16. Smith (melbourne Smith)

My thoughts of this match were a festival type game. But how physical was it. Unbelievable.

They looked more comfortable and organised and defianitly had the Wayne Bennett affect after spending a week with him.

Players to impress
Perritt who played well all game
SKD especially in the first half
Dear i say it ol Thomas played good. I was cursing him when his first kick found the fullback on the full but aftervthat he played well. I think it helped having Stacey there.
even Wiki played well

But to me Ali was the best Kiwi on the park. Lui had a greeat 1st half but Ali looked hungry and surely has to be considered as Kidwells reoplacement.

Also the Northern Union has to be considered lucky not to finish the game with 11 players for those 2 high shots. The first 1 would have been a 100% send off in the NRL even in a normal test it would of been off.

Question

Is Solomona injured or just not being considered

No one player bad that is for sure.

Yep it was good to have that leadership.

There are a number of players who have played themselves into contention.

Perret - well he pretty much as sewn up the fullback spot aint he

But just about all the other players put their hand up.

Faiumu played some decent minutes at hooker perhaps use him as starting hooker and have anderson on the bench. Play faiumu for most of the game at hooker.

SKD again showed his athleticism - got caught out in defense a few times but his attacking ability was definately on show. Up 2 kemble to decide whether or not he can chance his arm by having him on the wing.

Lauaki - was effective and simply did his job of going straight as opposed from being in no mans land and made no mistakes etc.

Toopi - wasnt spectacular but still put his hand up for a centre spot - considering matai is out and pending where or if they play hape and mannering.

Louis Anderson - was pretty solid both on attack and defense. Think we would definately get away with playing him off the bench and using him as hooker cover.

He changed alliegance to Samoa when Tuiaki and Moimoi did at the last RLIF meeting.
Ali was supposedly going to do the same - though obviously he changed his mind, though playing for the all golds doesnt rule him out.

TBH - i think he will apply to play for samoa if he dont get picked in the up and coming test matches. Though he is unlikely to feature in the kiwi worldcup team regardless.

Hohaia will be in the test team - both his versatility and his goal kicking. Otherwise they would have played him in the all gold match instead of faiumu.

Leulauai played good - he attacks the line more than roberts and smith, also he is little bit more hardnuts than them aswell. after the first kick his kicking game was alright.

I couldnt work out how Ali didnt get player of the match.

because the pommies picked their own youngster - who didnt really stand out to me but certainly did to the commentators when the mentioned his name every 5 mintues.

Also in consideration for your teams and the team selected -you mite see the non selection of players who perhaps have been 'disciplined'.

Hardnuts don't miss tackles and I'm afraid that the two that he missed contributed to two NU tries. Let's not forget that you can't compare apples to oranges.

no hardnuts halfbacks - attempt tackles and thomas leulauai never backs of in defense or attack. And last week smith attempt to tackle Willie Mason if you watch the replay just as he attempts to make the tackle - watch in slow motion and you'll se too little marbles sized balls fall out his shorts.

Leuluai or Hohaia for halfback for me and ill be happy just as long as it aint smith.

Also stanley doesnt have a chance for the first GB test - he got little over 10 minutes (though could slide and cover for that kick).

Although I don't think that means he doesnt deserve a chance for that test.

What 17 would you select for this first test Mr M_M_M?

Malcolm Boyle was on the left and Bennett's secretary Paul Bergman was on the right. Could explain Bennett's expressionless poise throughout the game.

"So what you reckon Wayne, any chance of you giving me a look at your plays book. I've really gotta make the semis this year for the Orcas."
