Some Melbourne supporters really need to get off the drugs, how can anyone justify the cowardly king hit of Williams.
So what if he was subject to a high shot, week in week out players are subject to what they think are high shots and the referee takes no action. It is not up to the player to take matters into his own hands

No one is denying that O Neill hit Williams high. But how you can try and justify him kinghitting ONeill is absolute rubbish.Williams just proved himself to be the lowest form of life in my eyes.

You melbourne supporters are a joke. There is no justification for what this idiot did and he deserves to be banned for the rest of the year. You just reflect poorly on yourselves with crap like this.

Believe me, not all Melbourne fans are supportive of what he did. I for one am disgusted by it, and I know many others who are also. I do thank Danny for his service to the club over the years, unquestionably, but on this occasion, he needs to be punished, and will deserve everything he cops.

Don't judge all Melbourne supporters by the stupid, idiotic and irrational thoughts of one or two... Mark Rudd, this thread is a deadset joke, and you are an embarrassment to not only yourself, but all other Melbourne fans on this topic

Well, YOU tell me how Danny's hit was different than Tallis's cheap thug shots on Ross? Did Ross expect it? He was trying to get away when without warning Tallis launches about 10 'Danny' hits on him. Yet what happens? Nothing. Perhaps if Ross could'nt walk away from that, it would be different.

What about the 2nd Origin with Bill's first hit-up? Above horizontal then back slammed with BOTH players DELIBRATELY TARGETING HIS HEAD WITH FOREARMS.

Did Billy expect THAT? Of course not. The result? Billy gets penalized for dropping the ball! Maybe if Billy's jaw was smashed things would've been different.

Then again, maybe if the refs had ANY kinda control and would stop conspiring against Melbourne, things couldv'e been different.

Bye bye Danny....good riddance.

Tallis had hold of ross's jumper.... Im sure ben didnt think Gordie wanted a kiss, at least he saw it coming.

Slaters Tackle?....well the word here is "Tackle"

Neither of them were king hit from behind without knowing by a cheap slug!

Can't explain it either eh. Thought so.

You might be right in that the system is inconsistent.

BUT - Williams is goooooooone, and I trust you don't think he shouldn't be.

And if your belief is that the NRL is against the Storm, then you're stupider than you seem - their very existance shows they have support at high levels - they are a burden finacially

While I agree Danny Williams punch was cheap and a severe penalty is in order.

What are we hearing about the tackle made by O'Neill and the ignorance of the ref in letting O'Neill's stiff swinging arm go without a second look. I think O'Neill should be given several weeks on the sidelines as well.

It also seems there is some bias from the ref's in relation to the West’s Tigers. I am still amazed at how they are allowed to lay all over a tackled player, the about of swinging arms, fore arms, etc.

I still believe if the West’s Tigers biased ref had of penalized O'Neill, then the whole incident would have never occurred.

f**k, are you still around.

Pingu, the ever glorious Wests Tigers hater. Soon, you'll be blaming us for the litter of cats in your backyard. ;-)

To answer your queries:

- If you had any clue whatsoever, you would realise that the Tigers NEVER get referrees favours. We are constantly ripped off. If you would like me to outline some instances from this season, let me know. There is a long list.

- The slowing down the play the ball that you are referring to apply's to Melbourne, not the Tigers. They always get away with it and they are the ones who introduced the grapple tackle.

- Saying that it is the referrees fault that the incident occured is madness. Yes, the tackle should have been penalised, but that is no excuse for the king-hit. That's just not on.

- Mark O'Neill was charged with a grade 1 careless high tackle and die to his clean judiciary record, he was not suspended.

Regardless of if the referee did or didn't peanlise O'Neill, it is not up to Williams to take matters into his own hands.

Despite improvements in the game, there are still a lot of 'cheap shots' in the game. An incident like this just brings it to our attention.

Personally I wouldn't have had a problem with it if Williams had given O'Neil a chance to put his fists up. He should have tried to square the ledger like Girdler did to Hodges in the Penrith/Roosters clash earlier in the season.

I like to see a bit of 'biff' in the game. It's good entertainment, but a king hit doesn't constitute 'biff' in my book

I agree with Mark Rudd's points but Williams is still in the wrong and I don't think he is disputing this.

Ross was trying to leave the ruck and Tallis grabbed then threw a dozen before Ross realized. boy, it sure looked like he knew it was coming eh. With his back AND head turned looking at the ref.

Slater was lifted past horizontal. No penalty.
Slater's two tacklers BOTH dropped forearms into his head. Pure undulterated CHEAP SHOTS. No penalty. Yeah. I'm REAL sure Slater saw THAT coming when he ran up. So it's ok eh?

Both instances the innocent was hit by 'a cheap slug' as you call it. Same thing. Yet not a big deal by the Australian Captian.

In fact, something FAR worse in the Origin and nothing said. Could've smashed Billy's face to bits.

And as far as the grapple tackle, perhaps Storm invented it. Yet after all the fuss, guess who used it quite a lot? The Blues coached by whinning Gus.

Danny will pay. While others get away with murder.

Yeah. It's all very fair aint it.

Thats right Inbreed Tiger the whole world is against your Tigers. The ref never gives them a fair go. The typical whinge I am used to hearing from you.

As I said before, HE (Williams) deserves a major suspension to be handed down as it was a cheap shot.

O'Neill's high, stiff, swinging arm deserves 5 weeks IMO. The ref should have stepped in and placed O'Neill on report and given a penilty to the Storm. If the ref had not shown the Tigers BIAS, then Williams would have gone about his game and not taken to another thug as he did.
