I didn't say I agreed with his argument, just that it is his opinion. Peachey will have to retire eventually. When should we be looking to replace him. The day he retires?

Ugh
Why dont you just debate your own points
Rather than agree with reefy on one hand
And also agree with DS so you can have your usual shot at reefy

You've taken two points of view on one issue and you wonder why you get called McSplinters? McSkitzo?

Mcshark DS & other people struggling with commercial reality & fact.
There are 2 little things call Flegg & PL.
In these locations you will find developing players. The players in these grades have been with the Sharks for a few years now.
Players like
Ross
Goodwins
Pelos
makisi
Aitken
Dallalana
etc.
Perhaps there we will find the replacement for Peach.
But right now we have a fullback whio is firmly entrenched in the top 5 FB's in the game for 1/3 of the salary cap price thatone of thoise conmmands.
If anybody can get Minni, Hunt, Hornby, Hoddo, slater, Roberts, Wesser for nexy year for less than 250k, call sludge.
I am not sure if he used to working with miracle men, but I'm sure he would in this case.
& I would be in full agreeance.

Like I said. I agree that we should keep Peachey but I am sure DS's opinion has nothing to do with rascism no matter how wrong you think he is.

potentially could be a great deal.

great to have on the wing for next year. and if/when the peach retires the next year, we have a fullback ready to go. or someone better and leave Amos on the wing

worth a try!

email Sludge. i can't be bothered

We have a goal kicking fullback/winger and with a year under his belt he could turn into something special and after all he's only 22 years old.

Well, what is his opinion based on.
I still cant find the reason.
I have gone to considerable lengths to demostrate & succeed in showing just how far off the mark is in every single one of his reasons. yet he still continues.
Look, I don't like Gould. I think hes ugly & I dont think he should be in the Coach of the NSW team. He should be sacked.
That is my opinion. because he looks like a rangas aarrse & he is a cheat I want him sacked. I wanta new coach to be developed.
There are probably plenty of arguments that will support him from a football sense. Arguments like I put forward to support Peach.
But thats not necessary is it? Its not my claim.
I'm not hiding behind some stupid pseudo football argument that have been discredited in order to push my anti Gouldness.
Stop hiding, come out & give the reasons for hating Peach & wanting him sacked so much.
Surely not too much to ask for.

BTR, I just said replace Peachey(Black) with Amos Roberts (Black).
So where in the hell do you get me being racist from?????????

I've actually backed Merritt to come good, but you want him banished but did I pull the racism card??????? NO!

I have stated in the 'main Peachey thread' my reasoning in detail for why I would like to see him retire. I have also credited to him being the most influential player the Sharks have had in their playing ranks in the past decade (behind E.T) for why we were so successful during Johny Lang's reign. But you missed that point eh?

Now what is the good of Peachey being cheap to us next year if I don't think he will be at 1st grade standard?

Just my opinion sure, but the metres gained stat was a telling case in point that we are getting very little drive from the back these days.

Now I agree he has been very good with try assists this year. But next year when we have Sullivan at hooker, Kimmorley at half and a recognised organising 5/8 (Dykes looks likely) do we really need a 4th playmaker? Or would we be better served with a hole runner? If we keep him we'll have all these organisers and no one to run through the gaps at pace.

Thankyou to those who have disagreed about my opinion but respected I have the right to take a different angle on this topic and not played the race card. It is much appreciated! :D

Imasharkie.
learn to think for yourself.
Other wise you sound like a pest at a tennis match.

In regards to the topic, metres gained was not an issue.
As it is not an issue with other ball players. Therefore it is an irrelevant stat in this case.
Peachey is in the top 5 bullbacks now & is still improving with each match he gets further away from DS's favourite coach, Anderson. How good would he playing if he had not had to go through the last 2 years?
We also do not have Dykes yet, do we?
& in regards to "drive" back. Why is peachey resppnsible for that in solo.
At other clubs the most kick return metres are performed by the wingers.
Why aren't our wingers being sacked by you but instead given support?

& now you want to sell peach & buy somebody(amos) who has the same amount of metres?
Is it an issue or not?
Same missed tackle rate, & the same worth when it comes to points scored for the team. Except for goal kicking of course.
But then again he is younger I guess.
But hang on, isn't this the guy who has not finished the last 3 seasons due to massive injuries that has resulted in at least 2 reconstructive surgeries?

You seem to find excuses & reasons for sacking peachey at the drop of a hat, yet other players are immune to your "opinions", for whatever reason.
There has to be something else, if it is not a race thing what is it?

What is it?

A difference of opinion.

We'll have to agree to disagree and drop the discussion because we're going round and round in circles, it has got nasty and it is starting to bore people (sorry spirit of league).

If the club keep him. I hope he proves me wrong for the Sharks sake.

If the club releases him. I hope he gets a well deserved send off and testimonial function and we get active in the player market and sign some exciting players to help kick start a new era.

That is interesting DS.

If we do get Dykes do we need a Peachey style 5/8th? Or on the other hand, if we keep Peach, do we need Dykes?

Dykes has a better general long kicking game and they both have reasonably good short kicking games.

I think we definitely need another option with a long kicking game. Peachey doesn't have this does he?

I'd love to see Dykes linking with Vagana too, he has a very good left to right passing game which Noddy seems to shy away from a bit.

So I guess the question stands as who would you rather Dykes and a young fast gap running fullback or Peachey with a running, defensive style 5/8th like we have this year?

I still want to keep the Peach but I see merit in the argument.

Sydney Roosters are believed to be on the verge of signing the league's leading tryscorer, Amos Roberts, to a contract worth many times more than his current $50,000 deal at Penrith.

Looks like to Roosters are going to take some more talent from the league

the roosters suck!!!!! how on earth can they stay under the cap, the merkins sign every decent player that is out there :x

I was thinking the same thing! How are they under the cap. Even if they buy cheap players after being with them their price would rise anyway, yet they seem to be able to retain high quality players

Why wouldn't we offer this guy something?
Surely we can outbid the Roosters. (eh maybe doesn't sound right).
Surely we are more under the cap than the Roosters. (thats better) and can afford a better offer.
