I hate the Roosters club more than I hate the Dragons
The Dragons at least develop kids in the Illawarra
It's their fans who are the merkins

The Roosters club is the most crooked, despicable, out of control monster. It is a blight on the game and it must be stopped.

I am with you 100%

I hate the Roosters club and I hate the Dragons fans. Wish they would merge and make it easier for me to hate them all. You can't hate the Dragons players, they are all from Illawarra.

This is so FARKED.

How the HELL can they fit him in if the Panthers had to let him go to stay under the f**king cap?

Someone at the NRL has to explain this shyte. It's just plain WRONG.

They are losing Fittler and Hodges. I guess that's what their answer will be.

Pogo, that's one argument - However Fittler would be on a reduced salary with discounts and super league sunset clauses and all sorts of things, so it's not that valid.

Fitter would be on SFA

He'd be on a big Channel 9 deal arranged by Roosters board member and Channel 9 CEO David Gyngell and on next to nothing paid by the Roosters

It's a rort because he wouldnt be able to get it if he was playing for another club.

$375000 according to the telegraph. (I think) That's more than enough for Roberts and Firman combined.

come on shark be rational work out the dollars and forget the bias, they are the BEST run club in the league.....and they have the best coaching staff.

why wouldnt players want to go there?

would you take 250k at souths or 175k at roosters given the tax implications and opportunities to mix and learn from some of sydneys best businessmen.

the figures above dont relate to roberts they are just a given example.

you may be interested to know that a group of roosters players have increased their wealth greatly from good advice on shares and stock investment, and why wouldnt they , have a look at the make up of their board.

next thing the poorer run clubs will be whinging about this!

Well, why the f**k have a cap at all, Pogo?

Fittler is on THAT MANY unofficial 'third party' deals with club sponsors that it is not funny. For example, he gets a fully maintained BMW and membership to several exclusive golf clubs that would all be worth about $150K per year combined. I know about the BMW because my staff used to have to park it for him. And go to the golf club to drive it home for him when he had drank too much. Not so much as a mention of any of it in the cap though.

Would businesses be throwing these sorts of sweetners at him if he wasn't Brad Fittler, captain of the Rorters?

I don't dispute that they are a good business outfit. Nor do I dispute that they have a great coaching staff or whatever.

But what they are doing clearly erodes the INTENT of the salary cap. The INTENT of the cap is to ensure that talent is shared around. By snaffling up all the talent, with various deals and whatever else, they are killing that talent distribution.

It's not good for the game and it's going to hurt them in the long run.

mate it didnt help them when penrith beat them in the grand final did it??

the third party money applies to many many players including kimmorley.

you should be more worried where clubs fudge their crowd figures pocket say 750 entry fees and split it between key players.

this happened make no mistake.

dont envy success.....strive harder to achieve it!!

It's all well and good to strive for success mate...But when you are head and shoulders better than everyone else because you sit on all the talent, who do you play?

Case in point...Aussie Cricket Team. Now, imagine if there was a 'talent distribution mechanism' in world cricket?

mmmhhh... :?:
