We should aye. And although he aint a recognised kicker I recon he could be developed. So we'd get the best winger in the comp and an ok kicker. GO FOR HIM!

Peachey is a better playmaker than Dykes ever will be. In the Manly games Peach played the role of a hole runner. He only plays as a 5/8th because he's better than most 5/8ths in the comp already. Even in 2000 he still served as a hole runner for a bit and he can still do it. If we need a hole runner, we tell Peach to hit holes - not sign a new player.

Sydney Roosters are believed to be on the verge of signing the league's leading tryscorer, Amos Roberts, to a contract worth many times more than his current $50,000 deal at Penrith.

I've already quoted it 8) . You should read the thread before quoting ;-) . Never the less, it is a good indication od Roosters buying good players and adding to their already strong team list.

It will be a major boost if he continues at that sort of percentage. What a bonus!

At the risk of going against the grain here.. I would ask people to consider looking around at what's on the market in terms of defensive players. PARTICULARLY in our back-row.

IMO Isemonger is our only solid, defensive back-rower. I'm not only talking about lateral ability there, I'm talking about CONSISTENT, effective body positioning. Rarely are players poking their heads through the ruck when he's about.

But with some of our other back rowers, this isn't the case at all. We can't go on scoring 30 odd points and winning by one unconverted try (I refuse to count Reicks final try today). No one is questioning the boys passion and committment - they're busting their guts to get off the line and put hits on - but they look SO TERRIFIED on our line.

We need confidence at the edge of the ruck desperately, and whether that problem is solved theoretically or via recruitment, I am undecided. IMO we cannot afford to lose Gallen et al in our back row, but they definately need to work on their defense.

As an aside, I was incredibly impressed with Kent's defense. I have to eat a large amount of umble pie there.

bailey has also been very good in defence this year and has done a couple of try savers simply by stop[ing momentum and wraping the ball up. if only he stoped giving away all those penalties then he would be grest
