Amos Roberts a Rooster

Author: Sydney Roosters
Monday, 5 July 2004

The NRL's leading try scorer, Amos Roberts, today agreed to join the Sydney Roosters.

The 23 year old product of St John's College Woodlawn, Lismore, has agreed to a 4 year deal with the competition leaders.

Roosters CEO Brian Canavan was thrilled to welcome Roberts to the Sydney Roosters.

"Amos has proven at St George and Penrith he can score a try, has blistering pace and has the ability to play in any back-line position.

"We are extremely confident Amos will fit into the Roosters culture and the game plan Ricky Stuart has laid out for him."

Welcome to the Roosters Amos :D

Roosters trying to buy a premiership again. Disappointed in the panthers management but also annoyed he's going to the Roosters, oh well as the saying goes -

'the more things change, more they stay the same'- Particularly true in the Roosters case

bloody marvellous and short memories some people have - maybe I should say selective memories

Who have we lost for next season - Hodges, Cusack, Fittler, Hegarty, Robertson, Rickertson re-signing on a reduced contract.

But we by two players and everyone goes spastic..could I suggest to you Penrith supporters - that Roberts was told to find another club becuase you couldn't fit him under the salary cap...oh now don't let a good story get in the way of the truth..no doubt you wanted him to stay and play for peanuts!!

I have never seen a club scream so much as blue murder as Canberra - and we haven't nor would we pick up Monaghan - as I stated on their forum - they need a reality check...

So we buy Firman and Roberts and now we are buying a premiership - god I wish someone cold check out each club and tell me who is buying the most players!! It certainly isn't this club

Thanks fans your showing your pure jealousy of a well run club!!

Hey Cross Dresser

I wonder how the Roosters players feel that were released because Management couldn't afford to keep them due to salary cap restrictions.

Truth is they were released so your Management could sign someone else

grow up Slugs - we let Cusack go because we have better players coming through - Hegarty asked for a release because your club offerred him more money than we were willing to pay him even though he had another year to run on contract - if it had been me I would have told him to go suck eggs and play the final year...

Hodges was released because he was a troubled little kid and wants to go home to mum and the mega bucks from the Broncos...

have a look at what is happenning to other clubs too - they are suffering just as much as us and we sign two players - whooppeee doo.

But then again Stringer is going to look good in red white and blue....

speaking of management - we have only had one management group for several years now - while your pathetic club has had more management groups than the years they have been back in the competition. Back in your box Jack!!

can I reiterate from a previous thread

if WE were to try and buy a premiership we would have won at least the last 20 in a row.

you know why I love being a rooster sooooooo much

the jealousy of everyone else is so pathetic
