George Carmont is an interesting one.
He gave up playing league as a junior after the death of a friend in NZ and took it up again when he moved to Australia, so he technically played his first senior game for Raymond Terrace in the Newcastle comp. He plays for Samoa, but could play for NZ, America (American Samoa heritage), NSW, Australia or possibly even England now that he has lived there for 4 years.

My point is that I haven't seen a player recruited to a NSW club in under 16's who has gone on to play for (or make themselves eligible for) NSW but we have seen the other way around.

Hmm maybe Ken Nagas? Not sure how old he was when he went down to Canberra.

^He ended up regretting his choice too. Looks like that link has incorrect info (as well as wikipedia). Nagas played for NSW in 96 too.

The proposed changes would affect which Nation those playing SOO could play for on a National level. Not that anyone from anywhere can play Origin.

You'd still need to qualify for Origin under the current rules(ie played in either respective state before 13). The proposed changes just clear the way to play for a team other than Australia in an effort to boost the talent on an international level. To grow the game internationally. Which is good sense.
