And now are you glad we have signed Ben Hunt ?

Congratulations to Ben for his selection! He's always been in the mix for a while.

Hopefully he has a great game (but not good enough to get QLD over the line).
Good on him , and Bennett dropped him a couple of weeks ago . Bennett IMO is not the nice guy every one thinks he is ....

Well he can cover 3 positions of the spine so it is possible. A good player.
On a side note I emailed Doust 2 years ago suggesting Hunt & he replied that he was not in the clubs plans moving forward. He would have been a damn side cheaper then.

As the 6th year starting halfback at Rugby League's biggest club, coming off the back of a Kangaroos tour and 2 years after his contract was upgraded at the expense of Corey Norman, I doubt he would've come cheap.

Interesting reading all these posts bagging the Club the coach - it never ends. There are only a handful of Top line coaches- they are locked in with Rich Clubs that have creative TPA's, plus big money in support. Get over it, our Club is not in that League and there's volumes of posts about our structure and conservative approach. Even when we were winning we still had people dumping on the Club. And just like clock work when the Club is playing poorly the 'kick em while they are down' approach by our 'supporters' is disappointing. constructive criticism is one thing, but really guys this forum is a depressing zone right now.

Well Hunt has been mamed in the QLD SOO, selectors citing his ability to cover a number of positions off the bench as opposed to DCE.
Can't wait to see this bloke in our spine next year. Just need to sort out our FB and Wingers.
And prop rotation. And game plan. And junior pathways. And coach.

I have to say it is going to be expected when you have individuals within the club structure who have jobs they are not entitled to have and basically don't seem to give a shit how bad things look and they want you to believe the BIG RED V still holds some type of magical sway.

League is now a full blown business the days of loyalty has gone out the window. Fans who are forking on alot of money for a membership want results and they are not getting it so they will vent and this is an avenue to do so as emails to the club does nothing.

The merger has a whole has been some what of a failure with good moments mixed in with alot of bad.

They have failed to see the coaching staff have failed in the last couple of years and still persist in keeping the same individuals. Its more then just the results for me its more the attitude and respect for the game that the players at times seem to not grasp.

I know now for players its all about the money I understand that but honestly some of them are kidding themselves in how they play and what they ask for to play the game.

Something is wrong at the club and the question is why for a supposed great club imo they are not that great.

In 2009 - 2011 we should that we can be in that league. Bringing in new owners is the only way we can climb back to the top - where we once dominated and where we can be again.

Great reply.

What I do not like is the unaccountability, a dinosaur CEO engulfed in nepotism with a 'jobs for the boys' mentality.

As a result, I no longer spend any money on the club. Why should I care, when the club does not care ?

That is what it has come to for a lot of supporters, me included. I have been to a couple of games this year(losses to Dogs & Eels)& I have walked away thinking despite a strong start to the year & Ben Hunt signing, that not much has changed. What's worse is there doesn't seem a great deal in the works to drive improvement, on the field(juniors etc.)or off it(6.5m debt that is crippling the club).
