Well if you did not watch the match how can you have an opinion?
Well, I guess you can. An ill informed opinion based on others views.

Excuse 2.
Brett needs another 3 games under his belt.

Excuse 3.

He was Australia's best player.

Excuse 4.

We need the utility value of Gower coming from the bench.

but you be sure and talk up how bad noddy was reef

on the other side it was a world class performance from vagana - from a sharks point of view thats a great result

I have never seen a more inept performance from an Australian half.
His insistance on being in everything was frustrating everbody.
I saw webcke(amongst others) run onto the ball at least 4 times only to have it dummied to him & passed to someone on the inside. Who wasn't expecting it.
You don't do that to the big guys.
When he did give it to them, they were not in a position to get it.
When he took the line on, he was smashed. Mostly By Vagana.
When he kicked, it went to Meli or Straight to Fauafili.
& don't get me started about his (lack of) defense.

He was awful & I reckon I'm talking it down.

The team played much better when Locky pushed him out of the way & took control or when Gower tried to spark things up.

exactly millers......there were plenty worse than nod!

how bad was crab heggarty & dismal devere?

Kimmorley was extremely average, but f**k, there were plenty worse........I'd place him in the top half of players on the field! His defence was very 'prestonesque' though!

It was hardly a performance to justify reselection though......... but f**k, PLENTY were worse! It was an all round sh!te performance from everyone.....

Lets's take subjetivity out of it for a moment and look at the facts :-

Chris Anderson coached the Australian Test Rugby League team today and they played terribly.

This is an australian team that most people agree should lap the rest of the league world, kiwis included.

Chris Anderson picked Brett Kimmorley in that side ahead of Gower, and batted ( excuse the pun) for him in selction meetings ahead of Campbell and orford.

Chris Anderson likes to have total control, we have seen the result of that at the Sharks. Chris Anderson must also have total responsibility for that performance.

He cannot Blame the roos " losing Culture"

He cannot blame the board for bickering with him and taking players minds off the job.

He cannot blame the ref

He cannot turn around and say " well, things are looking up for the next few weeks"

He CANNOT blame the aussie fans for being disheartened....or can he? can our national coach turn around in the press and tell the fans to love his methods or "piss off" and support another nation ?? he certainly told shark fans that earlier this year when they as a majority called his bluff and realised he had no new ideas and had brought poorly.

Yeah fair points & truths that few will here will have trouble swallowing. But very true.

On the squad & selections however, one thing that always guearanteed the Roos success was the fact that the winning GF team always had a majority of selections.
This kept players in sync & combinations together.
For that reason, Priddis, Gower & Campbell should have been the first picked for the squad. Especially Priddis.
Just criminal.

One thing is for sure though, today's game will be Anderson's tombstone as Australian coach. Terrible performances all round. :(

Craig Gower had about as much impact as the Irish horse in the Caulfield Cup. Wing and Buderus (not to mention the centres can join him).
Is there a rule in test football that it doesnt matter how many players are in the tackle you can strip the ball?Or if your names Buderus you're allowed to strip the ball.Lol.
Australia got 3 early penalties. Seemed the crowd got to Mr Bean after that.NZ must have got 8 in a row at one stage.Bill wouldnt have given 8 penalties in the match.
Thats the worst game I've seen Lockyer play for a couple of years and Webcke ran out of puff after 20 mins.
Too many Mad Mondays IMO and not enough work but thats what you get playing a test a this time of the year.

Useless Jerk!!?!

Ok, he played fairly poorly. As always I will simply say that BK still doesn't come off if his forwards aren't providing him with the necessary space. That didn't happen today. Gower deserves the next shot at half.

Hegarty and De Vere were worse. Villasanti and Mason were terrible. Add this to the fact that the Kiwis had a dead set blinder not unlike when the Warriors beat Canterbury in the Semi's. Vagana and Toopi proved how good they are, along with their forwards.

So, reefy, the excuse is "poor forwards, poor Noddy"

Well Noddy didn't put his best foot forward today.

The "excuse" I'll offer is that there were too many chiefs and not enough Indians. When we had Gower, Wing and Kimmorley on the field we had 3 generals wanting to run the battle in different ways. I don't agree Noddy was in the play too much at all. He wasn't in it anywhere near as much as he was at the Sharks. If anything he looked tentative to me.

Gower made errors as well. At one stage, no doubt in an effort to impress he went himself from 5 or 6 out with a screaming Phil Bailey outside him. Just a wrong option but one I don't think he'd of made if he was "in the game" from the start.

Wing looked totally out of his depth as a 5/8 and had a defensive nightmare, getting bumped off and battered around. It took the zip out of his offence.

I thought Webcke was gonna rip Noddy's head off at one stage when Noddy gave him a "Hail Mary" pass about 30 out.

Best halfback on the field was the boy from NZ, by a mile. Close second was Buderus and he played hooker

this is true Frenzy, but why not say " noddy had a bad game" like most football fans would ? we cannot allow the fact he is a shark change our appraisal of his match . it sucked.

The "excuse" I'll offer is that there were too many chiefs and not enough Indians. When we had Gower, Wing and Kimmorley on the field we had 3 generals wanting to run the battle in different ways.

when WE had gower , ring and kimmorley....should read....when ANDERSON had gower, wing and kimmorley on the field etc etc..... you offer it as an excuse , so let's take off our shark coloured glasses and say..........you blame ANderson because HE is the coach and HE chose to have those 3 chiefs on the pitch at the same time.. ?

I don't agree Noddy was in the play too much at all. He wasn't in it anywhere near as much as he was at the Sharks. If anything he looked tentative to me.

I agree with you here in that he looked tentative, the other 15 ELITE aussie rugby league players on the field besides him and Bails were standing and running how they naturally play their best.....a little deep. Noddy looked tentative all game because he was running at the line and looking around for the ball runners who were 5 metres behind him, losing all his, and our attacks, momentum.

Gower made errors as well. At one stage, no doubt in an effort to impress he went himself from 5 or 6 out with a screaming Phil Bailey outside him. Just a wrong option but one I don't think he'd of made if he was "in the game" from the start.

Very true, good call, frustration it seemed.

Wing looked totally out of his depth as a 5/8 and had a defensive nightmare, getting bumped off and battered around. It took the zip out of his offence.

Again this goes to selection, NOddy has never played good football with another halfback playing in the number 6. Scott hill was a lock in number 6 jumper at storm.

I thought Webcke was gonna rip Noddy's head off at one stage when Noddy gave him a "Hail Mary" pass about 30 out.

Best halfback on the field was the boy from NZ, by a mile. Close second was Buderus and he played hooker
