Because he has the misfortune of being called Andy, he adds a y on the end to a players name whenever he can, just so he doesnt feel alone.

"Oh, Bretty Finch"
"Heres go's Franky Pritchard"
"What about Mickey Weyman"

And whoever said Brandy is boring is spot, I mean he's spot on, he's spot on !!!

I'm waiting for him to introduce his co commentator "Brandy - y" Alexander.

Incredibly annoying pretentious manner of speaking.

 That is spot on. I don't mind Andy Raymond though, I mean yes it almost seems like he's commentating for an audience of 5-10 year old children sometimes, but that grates on me far less than Braybrook who tries to be waaaay too clever for his own good.

what are some of the ex-abc callers doing these days?

surely peter wilkins could get a gig with foxtel.
warren boland was great.
even jim maxwell should be considered.

at the moment the mute button does a better job than the entire cast of foxtel & channel none.

I can't stand him, between his screaming and Braybrook's whining, most of the time I watch the fox games with the volume turned down.

There has to be better commentators out there than those two and Tallis, not to mention Gary "the little number 7/9" Freeman . Warren Smith is the only one worth listening to.

No he must stay on the air.

I said in this in the match thread but I'll post it again here.

He is HILLARIOUS in the early season games.

Players obviously try and handle their personal affairs (marriages etc) over the off season. So Raymond, in rounds 1 to about 3 or 4, usually says things like 'Congratulations to [player], he and his fiance got married over the off season' or 'he and his partner celebrated the birth of their child in the off season'.

Fair enough, right?

What's really good is when he runs out of kids and weddings he starts congratulating people on their cat having kittens or something equally silly. I heard him do it early this year, and I clearly remeber it last year.

It's gold.

HAHAHA

He always shouts when its not required lol

Parra v Sharks last year, Tahu pulls off a big hit, it was as if someone just shot him thats how loud he was screaming.

'Thats is a monster, a monster from Tahu, He came from Wentworthville to put on that hit" lol

As dumb as he is, it's always good to have a laugh when he is commentating

Still think Mark Braybrook has it all over Raymond, but can understand the anger vented towards him.

I don't have fox so only have to stomach his calls if I am up the club but I remember when he use to do some games on 2UE and he was embarrasing, constantly getting players names wrong.. Worse even than Ray Warren..

and he always calls ex Parra players "former Parramatta Eel" before saying their name

Yeah I notice that too, I remember the Cowboys/eels game there were about 3-4 ex Parra players and he called Ray Cashmere one of them :?.

Since when did Ray Cashmere ever play first grade for Parramatta.

I dont think commentators are very good with their knowledge unless theyve got David Middleton helping out.
