Caught this weeks ep, missed last weeks. The show looks very good, but I think I would've liked to have seen a couple of different older characters (Phil the Policeman/Ricky the actor from WCBH or Jonah from SHH), the characters he has are all very good though.

"I'm gonna put my butt on your face and take a poo on you, take a poo on you" haha.

Had it's funny moments last night. S.Mouse's interactions with his Dad were probably the best bits.

Can't wait for tonights episode, last week was real good. Dunno how he gets away with all his shit, imagine if anyone else said one of the many things he said "I thought Mediterranean Descendants were meant to be good at soccer", "Did your mums heroin habit during pregnancy affect your co ordination", Something like yeh your aboriginal but your not dark black. Called some coconuts and stuff. His black face skit. I love that he gets away with it, but don't understand how others can't.

kick it negro!

yeah. its great isnt it.

Does anyone else find the negative reviews on this show hilarious?

I read one the other day praising the Asian mother character while at the same time saying that dressing in blackface was offensive.... When did blacks take out a mortgage on being the only race people seem to think it's racist to make fun of?

If it were that offensive, you'd think the black people on the set and in the bloody show with him might have, oh I dunno, got offended

I don't know what more Lilley could do with characters like Phil - he was somebody who couldn't let go of his 15 minutes. By the end of WCBH he'd come to grips with reality and was ready to move on with his life.

Ricky or Jonah wouldn't be bad to look back on but where would you go?

Slow start to the series but considering it's his longest series I'm ready to give it time.

Maybe you're right about Phil, he's still lilley's best character imo.

With Ricky there's potential. At the end of WCBH he quit his science job to seek acting jobs, he wasn't speaking to his father anymore and was living with his friend, there's definitely potential there to go somewhere. I guess the main problem with him was his character wouldn't fit in with the others.

Jonah moved back to Tonga, they could have a storyline about him living there, or moving from Tonga back to Australia again for his post school life. He doesn't have to have it take off immediately after SHH.

Thought the first episode was great, second was pretty average. S.Mouse sucks but his dad is hilarious. The surfer guy just looks like an older version of Dan so I'm not sure how that'll go.

S.mouse sucks big time but his dad is f**king gold... 2nd ep was mehish but the first one cracked me up... the dunt twin's step dad has a very slapable face which helps me understand daniels dislike for him

nan is stealing the show atm

Agreed, I watched WCBH again the other night and I really cracked up at his scenes - everybody knows THAT guy.

Oh and I agree you could do something with Ricky and Jonah, especially when you consider he brought the Sims brothers back after a bit of a ret-con. I reckon Ricky trying to make it in Hollywood would be pretty funny just to see the yanks reactions to his character.

As for Jonah, I really liked his story, I thought it was the best segment Lilley ever produced and was both comedic and heartwarming. I just don't know what more you could do with him though...

Yeah what he's doing with his dad is kinda genius. Cause he seemed like such a nice bloke in the first episode, and he's still acting nice but he's doing/saying shit that would make you hate him if he was your mum's boyfriend, like he's really trying to be their dad.

This series is really nothing on his first two. Nathan and Daniel had run their course in the first series IMO, were much funnier then.

Also the surfer guy, just a copy of Bra Boys? Don't really see where he's going with that just pretty much copying the storyline from that movie..

I'm a massive fan of Chris Lilley, watched every episode in We can be Heroes and Summer Heights High numerous times; however this one is not in the same league. There is actually too much swearing, feels a bit unnatural at times. Also I don't think the other actors are anywhere near as strong in this one, they were a massive highlight in past series, especially in Summer Heights High (Jonah's friends, teachers at the school etc).

Yeah not rating Angry Boys as much as his other stuff.

I did enjoy seeing him take the piss out of the Bra Boys though.

This is crap compared to his other stuff.

Maybe it will get better.

Right now it looks like one series to many - typical of Aussie comedies/comedians.

It is trying to hard to appeal to overseas viewers, since HBO are funding I think, I think SMOUSE is a boring character.

I watched the first two episodes, didn't really enjoy it too much. A couple of giggles here and there, but WCBH & SHH are both far superior thus far. The characters and observations are still just as clever but for some reason they're just not as funny. Can't put my finger on it, just isn't the same.

I missed last episode though, I was most interested in seeing the surfer and Asian. Hopefully it was just a slow start.

i love s.mouse, funny raps, has that arrogance rappers seem to have. he's also got that deluded celbrity thing about him as well where he thinks he's a genius.

the reason i think this hasnt quite hit as well as the other 2 series is the pacing of it and the fact that 3 (4?) episodes in there isnt a clear direction where he's taking it. WCBH it's heading towards the Australian of the Year, SHH is about the school term and what happens over the term, AB has no end line, no context in which this is taking place. Also he hasnt started pulling all the threads together (i suspect they all end up at nathans farewell) so it kind seems disjointed, trying to work out how the gay skateboarder fits in with everything...

i do find it funny, but since HBO is bankrolling it it has to have a target audience over there which is perhaps why some of the characters dont quite have the little aussie mannerisms in the past series.
