I'm actually pleased that it's all announced now and kills off any speculation surrounding his decision for the coming season. Now we can focus on footy and the club, the two things that are most important to us when it comes to South Sydney.

I was in favour of playing him off the bench next year regardless of weather he signs or not.

Play him in a Cohen Hess role off the bench. Even more so now that he has decided to move on.

We may have to start with Sam on an edge but then move him to the middle when Angus comes on and then Sam can take a 15min breather and then finish the game at prop again....

So like 20-25 on an edge and then 20 at prop and then a 15min breather and then finish the game at prop.

More factual info from Mixo: Souths offer to Crichton was $850K (major overs in my opinion) the rorters offer was 1 million with TPAs. What would you expect Richo to do ? Get involved in a dutch auction? He did the right thing "see you later Angus enjoy your stay with the dark side"! Guaranteed he will be seeking a release to join the stinking rorters next year - he would not be able to take the flak from the bunnies supporters if he plays for us next year.

I've been thinking that Fui is now a cert for the back-row.

I was certain Fui was gonna play centre this year, but now f**k that drop Crichton to reserves or at least the bench and make Fuimaono our priority second rower. I’m not against turner going back to the second row. I think that’s his best position.

I'm just absoulutely shattered. Gutted. Words can't explain.

He's going to be the best second rower in the world and he's just slipped through our fingers and fallen to the dark side.. Oh, I just can't believe it. It hasn't sunk in yet. To put that much work into a player and to see us turn him into a superstar and then to see it all snatched away by some greedy, heartless club hurts, it cuts deep. He's such a great guy too. Sigh...

How has this happened? My head is all over the place right now. I'm not going to attack the club as we would've done everything in our power to keep him but it was his desision.

I can't blame him either and I won't hate him until he actually leaves (even then, I'll always have a soft spot for him) but that's not to say it doesn't hurt. I do find it strange how he says it's not all about the money but as soon as the Roosters up their offer he snaps it up.

It is going to really suck next season knowing that everything good he does in 2018 is going to directly benefit the Roosters. I'll still cheer for him, I'll cheer for anyone in the mighty Red and Green at this present time but it's not going to be easy. I will admit, I have lost some big respect for him but the way he notified the club was classy. Let's hope he comes out like Sam did and really finishes on a high. I'm really hurting right now guys. He'd better or I'm going to be really pissed.

They've just signed 2 players for $1 million each on the cap in 2017, they are about to re-sign Friend and Cordner, they've upgraded Keary by like $200k and now Crichton!! All they've lost is Pearce, Guerra and Nikorima. They would've been close to the cap limit (probably over it) this year so how can they be under for 2018 and 2019? If you tell me they are you're having a laugh, it's a friggin joke!! And what's the bet nothing will come of it!

They are a heartless club and will now be not only Souths fans most hated club.

And to all you that say "get over it" or "build a bridge," I can't right now. I love this club and I am very passionate about it. Stuff like this really hurts. Roosters fans would be saying the exact same if they were in this position.

I just can't believe what I read, it's like a nightmare that I can't wake up from.

Seibold has his first really difficult decision as a coach. He has to either use Crichton to try and get the best results for 2018 or drop him and focus on the long term. I would have major respect for Seibold as a coach if he doesn’t use Crichton next year or manages to pull off a swap. I think it’s the much smarter move for a club rebuilding. It’ll be interesting to see how 2018 unfolds anyway.

At least we don’t have Mcinnes dragging us down anymore...
